The adults have fed their youngest and smallest owl child well in the nest hollow

The day before yesterday the largest owl chick went out to discover the world, today the middle one. The smallest may still take a few more days – we will see.

The adults feed the unfledged chicks who climb around in the trees close to the nest by claws, beak and wings. Fledging takes time and they will be busy in the nest area until August.

The chicks that have left the nest trunk will not return any more …
