If the jackals still appeared to be rather skinny in early November then in this video from November 20 they look well fed and quite round in their fresh winter furs.
Despite the temptation the cautious creatures keep away from the bait: the genetic memory of the species holds memories of how they were destroyed by poisons added to the bait in their established habitats.
Our knowledge is of course not sufficient for drawing definite conclusions but the web camera at least transmits some insight in their doings and we also hope for comments from researchers.
