:hi:
thanks for this great observation

indeed there are already recordings of songs and calls of Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrix) "Rubenis" posted here. But as far as i know there is no picture of an exemplar taken via this cam.

A case for the project “Putni un zvēri purvā”.

>> The project creators invite you to watch, copy and share interesting video clips, voice recordings and observations by contacting project coordinator Ugis Bergmani <<

>> Jaunais projekts “Putni un zvēri purvā” sniedz iespēju sekot līdzi aktuālajiem notikumiem purvā, kurš nebūt nešķitīs vairs tik kluss: martā purvā ierodas arī dzērves un cīruļi. Aprīlī būs klausāms rubeņu riests būs dzirdamas arī citu purva putnu balsis, atdzīvosies purva veģetācija – sāks plaukt lapas un ziedēs spilves.

Marfo, Biker, thank you for the information.
I read that they are live in the low mountain range.
I immediately thought of my Bavarian homeland.

Vērotāja wrote that she did not expect to hear one at this time.
But the autumn courtship begins. so it is normal to hear them in September.

Biker, you can pass on the observation to Urgis? That would be great.
Many have puzzled what is calling. Nordri, Biruta, I think? and some others. It is not my observation.

Good morning!

Virsis arrived at 8:19. Female joined him at 8:21, Virsis leaves a little later. Both calling.
Female flies to branch at 8:24 and returns to the nest a while later.
They come and go.
Virsis still doesn't like her 'kisses'. It seems she follows him around and he is not very fond of her. But who knows, with so little females around he may have no choice.
