:hi: everyone!

Hello, Florinda,
i earlier wrote here what i've read about these pendulum movements
viewtopic.php?p=665127#p665127
>>all actions begin and end with those movements, which serve camouflage.
clean, scratch, fly up - nothing happens without they rocking sideways..<<

regrettably i didn't see here how they move on the ground, with their a bit "special legs".
how they take off into the air, that's also special 8-)

Some very loud and clear sounds could be heard between 00:01 and 00:06. Some of the churring and wing clapping (especially around 00:02:15) was so clear that it must have taken place really close to the mic.

Thank you for those, who reported from the last night! These small sightings are motivating to keep on searching

It seems that I picked the wrong strategy. They are a lot closer to the camera than I expected. Should have zoomed out and pan first...

How beautiful! Saw them earlier in the day but did not know how to find the site. Hellem helped me out! So many questions, but will try to find them online first.

Waking up, left one opening wide its beak, and we can see their eyes.

Just past 16:20: sounds like geese/ducks flying over?

Then at 16:21:27 a car is heard approaching, even more distinctly at 16:21:39.
16:21:52 a car door is slammed, giving the NJs a scare, voices start to be heard, as well as some more slamming
16:23:02 another car door gets closed
16:23:49-16:24:12 five doors slammed in all, followed by the sound of a car engine, voices are briefly heard again
Sounds like someone just happened to stop for a pee in the woods, unaware.

And just past 16:25 the NJs shake it off :shake:

Fleur, Hellem

23:06:35 one of the fledgelings (NJ1) is back on the perch. The other one tries to join him at 23:07:20, but gets bounced off (?) and is out of cam view. NJ1 is away at 23:07:55.

23:14:25 here comes the churring song (3:40 of it), then a couple of whistling calls, a brief churr around 23:19, and a couple of whistling calls again

There are a few croaking calls at 00:01:34, and two whistling calls in quick succession at 00:02:21. Other than that the nightjars are keeping a very low profile tonight.

A little more croaking may be heard around 00:40:15 and 00:40:40 plus three distinct whistling calls around the 00:41 mark.
