No, it could be only local movements. Peak of migration of cranes here are in the second part of September and beginning of October.

Don't think it's a Moorhen since its too small
It has a short beak and that outrules Water Rail, so it should be a Spotted Crake (Porzana porzana) that have been heard playing a lot around here.
