There is nowhere else to put this, I believe. Here is a little history on this brand new camera that just started broadcasting from Explore about 3 days ago. It is the Mississippi River Flyway where birds of all kinds are migrating down the river. At times, the scenery with sunshine and sunsets and sunrises are just spectacular. I hope you all enjoy!

I don't know how long they will broadcast or if it is only a seasonal camera. Maybe it should have it's own thread?

Here is the info I copied from the Explore site which I put in my videos. There is more on the Explore site.

The Raptor Resource Project has established a new bird cam on an island in the heart of the Mississippi River’s Driftless area. Located in the Upper Mississippi National Fish and Wildlife Refuge on Lake Onalaska, the Mississippi River Flyway Cam will offer an unparalleled look at migrating birds and river wildlife, including bald eagles, American white pelicans, sandhill cranes, Caspian terns, cormorants, and many species of ducks, gulls, and other waterfowl. The camera project was completed with help from the Upper Mississippi National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, the Brice Prairie Conservation Association, Riverland Energy Co-Op, and Explore.org. Volunteers helped ferry people and supplies to and from the island, erect two utility poles, and install solar panels, a power supply, and the camera assembly and radios. From start to finish, the project took a total of eight long days over a period of 2 months.

Volunteers from the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, the Raptor Resource Project, and Explore.org will operate the camera. Please join us as we look and listen to one of America’s greatest migration flyways!

This is the main Explore cam page which includes chat.

Royal albatross cam

Chick got the microphone cap off :rotf:

It wasn't Karere- she came later and was playing with the cap too.

There also was a feeding by Dad today. Karere now weighs 8.3 kg and will fledge soon. A few days ago she got new rings.

Urdaibai Bird Center

I have seen many, many types of birds here and it appears this may be a stop over place for migrating birds, maybe in Spain as text is in Spanish.

Description says:

Ven a Urdaibai Bird Center.
It is a center managed by the Aranzadi Science Society dedicated to research and dissemination about the world of birds, their migrations and the habitats where they live.
The center can be visited half through the audio guides and the other half with the window technician. You can discover many fascinating things about birds, in addition to being able to observe them from our viewpoint in detail, thanks to the optical and video equipment with superzoom that we have installed at your disposal.
A real live documentary. Come to Urdaibai Bird Center.
There is a Facebook page, here:
