Thanks for vid Black swan.
Some small birds didn’t like Spilve’s visit after 3 days of rest and peace.
They tried to ‘attack’. :rotf:

July 19

14:13 Spilve came to the nest. Brown shrikes and a lapwing are complaining, the shrikes are 'attacking'. She is walking around and standing a bit, picking in Klints' remains a few times.
14:16 she went to the branch.
14:18:25 strange sound from Spilve(?).
14:35 Away she went

Hello all!
16:09
Spilve!! :)

She looks around, picks up one of klints' claws, and brings it to another part of the nest. She starts eating it.

Marfo, thank you very much :-)

Time is running forward so fast and I didn't peek in there for long time, what was done never will recover. There are other nests to watching and other many happy and sad moments ...

On the one hand that was a bit sad sight, as I was suggested by your post and as I just wrote in the live chat, but we must to be patient, and watch that as a part of the Nature which is given us by the live cams. As it happens in the Nature, Klints is still slowly becoming a part of the nest. It's not the first time for me like that.
Btw, with full respect to you, I don't think and I have some doubts that it was just Klints' claw ... it seems to me a leftover of an old prey that Spilve brought into the nest ...

And on the other hand, that is very positive that she is well looking and still keeps coming back to the nest, just like counting it as her own - 'that is my home', she's caring, guarding it, so she's going to keep it for the future.
Absolutely fantastic, strong, brave Spilve, the Girlie eagle
Her first season as a mate and as a mother was so much much unhappy
I deeply hope that next season she meet a nice strong and brave partner and will have other chicks that survive :bounce: and the nest will be full of food, she is worth having happy birdie life :shake:
Spilve, dear Girlie, I love you like we all on this side of the cam, I trust you, you have my crossing fingers :2thumbsup:

Thanks to the attentive watchers,
the information, the pictures, the video. Great job

Glad to see Spilve again. :loveshower:
She looks beautiful.
Maybe she'll find a new mate soon. Fingers crossed

She now perceives the remains as part of the nest. But she, apparently, still considers the nest hers. This is good, it gives hope. (My opinion)

:hi: Tatyana, thanks for the video ... I did not expect such behavior. I thought she left everything as it is.
We watch and learn ...

I agree with all you write, I've been watching many nests since 2015.
That what happened today didn't surprise me.
It is very positive that she didn't abandon her nest and still means it is hers.
And like you I hope and wish her nice, strong mate and many eaglets in the future, she is worth of it :2thumbsup:

Thanks for the video Tatyana!

Spilve is still in the area.
Yes, it's her nest now.
The thought ripens a little, she might find a new mate and bring him to her nest.
That would be great!

Hello to all! :hi:
8.48 A woodpecker knocks next to the microphone. :slap:

Or maybe it was not a woodpecker, but some other bird? :puzzled:
