Weather was bad today, a lot of rain and wind.
The egg has disappeared.
Think it's broken and kicked, now buried in the nestbowl or so...
Spilve and the chick harmonize better and better when feeding.
Little one will be much bigger tomorrow
face to face
wing stretching

Virsis brought new prey at 15:09, looks huge, another hare?
Spilve working hard on leg of the big bird
She doesn't notice how the end (the foot)
bangs against the chick again and again...
Little One is not amused and gets angry
tries to bite and bonking the foot
Funny scenes especially between 15:12 and 15:13

Think our Baby is doing well,
Little one ate quite well, but it seems to me, not everything tastes equally good
small bites are often spit out...
Feeding around 19:50, he/she shows a nice crop
At 20:02 Virsis brought something into the nest
Very difficult to see.
Probably 2 little birds or other small animals, Spilve got up and examined curiously.
Susccessively took 2 of them in her beak. (20:04)

8.45 bst
Chick all alone and lots of bird activity/ noise from near nest , crow or possibly Buzzard in area, chick lies low.
8.55 bst
Still no parent bird in sight , suddenly very loud shrill noises from very near nest I think it’s a buzzard , chick staying low and still , then parent bird screeching definitely alarmed.
Other bird Scared off , think a possible disaster has been averted .
Parent bird arrives back
Can anyone listen back and confirm what they think the predator may have been ?
Too much carrion in nest must be an attraction for danger !

At 8:45 and 8:55 kid is fed by mum. So I don't know at what time you saw this? Please note the camera time* you see bottom left of the screen so every one in the world knows at what time things happened.
I've wondered what you mean by 'bst', your local time maybe?
* camera time is local Latvian time.

Ah British time, I thought so. No problem, we all have to learn the tricks of this forum A few years ago I was also new and didn't even know how a forum worked
What you heard is not a Buzzard nor any other bird of prey. It sounds familiar but a bit strange. Could be an alarm call of a Lapwing or some bird imitating that. There are several birds around that can do that very well, a Jay for instance
Tip: On Xeno-canto you can find all sorts of bird sounds recorded by experts in the field. Just fill in the Dutch, English or latin name in the field at the top. But maybe you already know that...
Baby seems to have grown, it dozes most time in partial shade
Spilve is on the road every now and then
Virsis has been twice for a short visit to the nest
Spilve back with greenery
Spilve testing the sunbrella
edit:
14:20 another short visit by Virsis
