Uhuuuuuuuuh ... Bravo guys, you did it! :loveshower: :loveshower:
To follow !

All waiting time summarized in a few seconds.
Congratulations, all goes well!

Now is the time to rewind and see the times since they appeared to draw some conclusions from the times of heat, etc.

Emiliano, I am very relieved.
Also a little curious whether I will be able to lean back a little quietly and let things go. The last few days were super exhausting in combination with my job and family responsibilities. I'm tired ... but very happy. All tension is released.

Continue in the day ...

12:47:41 H21 gets up, looks at the egg and lies down again.
12:48:40 H44 is calling. H21 'answers'. It sounds like he's calling from below the nest.

The H's have a gentle conversation:

There are also acoustic signals from H44 later on. His female likes to pick it up, but doesn't always respond to it. It will be fine that way. The two work well together. :innocent:

17:05:38 H21 gets up, H44 calls quietly and gently. She answers ... louder below.
17:06: H21 is on the edge of the nest. She follows his calls and leaves the nest 17:07:03.

17:09:29 H44 comes to the nest.
He sorts branches meticulously. However, he is awkward with the egg. He stands over it instead of warming it.
But his sense of duty is very noticeable. H44 will learn quickly.

17:13:38 H21 calls
17:13:56 H44 leaves the nest ... mating noises.

17:15:22 H44 is back. He knows he has to and wants to do something ... it is touching to see a Goshawk rediscover his instincts and try to apply them. :innocent:
It will be fine.

17:38:28 38 calls can be heard. Probably H21
17:56 I hear crows ... They worry me more than a stuttering incubation.
18:13:04 Short call from one of our H's
18:13:26 - 57 mating noises ... then a series of 'Gjaks' :innocent:
18:15:00 crow
18:15:22 - 25 an H calls
18:19:39 short call
18:20:43 an H calls

18:46:37 H21 is stuck between the lower level and the nest level. She calls.
I wonder why she doesn't take the direct route?

Image

18:47:09 She is now almost invisible when H44 chirps.
18:47:37 H21 stumbles into the nest. As quite often ...

Image

A few twigs are straightened and the egg disappears under the warm shell of H21. :innocent:

21:01:14 H21 gets up.
It looks a bit clumsy. She cleans herself up, looks into the area ...

I can't see it for sure, but she seems to stand for a very long time.
Then it gets dark ... An unusual situation for H21 too. Suddenly tied to the nest. It's nice that she stays. She will get used to it soon. :innocent:

April 18th

:hi:

It gets lighter and you can see H21, which warms the egg.

Image

05:32:42 She gets up, calls out softly, stands on the edge of the nest. Then she jumps onto the side branch and shouts louder for a moment.
05:33:15 H21 is thrown out
Soft tones can be heard.

05:40:28 H44 lands on the edge of the nest, soft sounds
H21 calls from the area. Now H44 moves carefully into the nest bowl.
He stands over the egg, tugs branches. H44 seems almost shy. :innocent:

Image

H21 calls from the area.
05:42:35 H44 leaves the nest.

05: 43/44 The H's are having a morning talk.
For a moment I thought they would mate, but I think no.

06:15:23 H44 back He tugs again, loosing twigs around the egg.

Image

Image

Calls from H21 from the area.

You can see it. H21 later sits across from the nest.

06:17:04 H44 flies to her.
Mating still 'on site'. :whistling:

One of the H stays there in the tree after mating until 06:19:32

06:47:23 H21 has approached the nest again via detours.

Image

She greets the egg with a powerful shout and covers it.

06:29:27 The H's contact each other.

07:15:59 H44 passes the nest to the right at lightning speed and disappears into the area.
H21 notices him ...

Image

H44 like a rocket

11:10:30 A bird makes two larger bends around the nest. I hope it is H44. A crow can also be heard.
In any case, H21 remains calm, but follows the bird with her eyes.

Pay attention to the sky, shadows and the looks of H21.

12:13:34 H44 announces itself with a crack.
(I read a long time ago that partners announce each other with recognizing calls before they come into the nest. This prevents possible 'intruders' from being aggressively attacked. Our H's don't do that ... H44 comes into the nest without contact call :puzzled: )

They only greet each other now, H21 chirps softly but invitingly.
Then she gets up, at the same time H44 follows into the nest cave.

For me this is a big step forward !!! It looks like a good move. H44 tugs gently at her tail feathers.

Image

Image

And ... he rolls the egg! :2thumbsup: It is the first time that I (!) see that H44 is actively touching the egg!
H21 encourages him to sit down. This is my personal interpretation. And H44 was about to ...

Image

Unfortunately, H44 leaves the nest 12:16:14 .

H21 follows him 12:16:56

Next time ... :innocent:

12:25:41 H44 comes into the nest with a stick.

This visit seems hasty ...

12:28:21 H44 comes to the nest with the first soft green of spring.

Image

It's cute and so is he, but I think, 'Sit down! Finally sit on the egg, honey! ' :rotf:

H44 rolls the egg, lifts branches ... well. :innocent:

Image

He does everything really well. We must not forget that they are young goshawks.
12:31:22 almost ...
12:31:34 Is he sitting? Does he do it ????

Image

12:32:08 H44 flies out to H21
Mating until 12:32:20

12:33:55 H44 back.
The calls from H21 follow him.

He is very attentive. Something is getting his attention.
H44 just stands there and watches ... with the precious egg between his feet.

12:42:03 I suspect H21, our girl.
She lands directly in the upper branch, calls.
(H21 arrivals often look complicated.)

Image

Then quiet ...

Yes. She now jumps into the nest, puts down branches and covers the egg. :innocent:

13:03:47 H21 is very attentive to screaming ...
I think seagulls. A scream of fear ... scream? Then some howling. H21 stays alert.
