12: 03: 47/48 extended calls from H21 in the area

Further
12:03:52 - 57 quick calls
12:04:43 - 50 quick calls
12:04:43 - 50 too

12:05:47 stretched call
12:06:32 stretched call

12: 08: 20/21 two extended individual calls

A little exciting for me because I would like to know the reason.
There are no crows or other disturbing factors to be heard. But H21 seems to want to make a difference.
Hmm ...

12:09:00 - 05 the first note stretched, then kicking

12: 09: 29/30 H21 lands in front of the small entrance with a bit of a show. 8-)

And again a green branch will fit into the circle .... :innocent:

It doesn't take a lot of reminders - H44 leaves the nest at 12:10:00

12:36 The sky opens its locks.

12:41 H21 has a quick shower.

12:56 A small lake forms behind her neck.

12:09:32 to 23:00

Three incubation periods for the female, the last very long which continues at night.

(12:10:11 - 14:03:07) 1h52´56 "
(14:19:57 - 16:15:01) 55´04 "
(19:03:07 - 23:00:00 ...) 3h56´53 " ...

For his part, the male does two relays, one of them quite long.

(14:04:18 - 14:19:39) 15´21 "
(16:18:02 - 18:55:41) 2h37´39 "

Today they have endured the rain for a period of time and then the female seems to have fixed her plumage, it also seems that the sound of her meowing type of her uses it frequently both in the nest and outside it.

Greetings and good nights.

Emiliano, hello

What is interesting for me is that I have never heard these notes from Boka. Just as the tenderness between the partners at Boka and Lui was never or hardly to be seen. She (Boka) mostly used the Kik'kik-kik or simple kik even during the incubation changes. Quieter, of course, but I never heard her say 'begging'.
Well, our H's are still very close to the age when they begged and kissed as siblings. They may still feel this bondage experience very fresh. And maybe next year they will appear completely different and there will be fewer kisses and begging calls. :book:

Emiliano, can you imagine the chicks uttering sounds? That there is an "Egg - Talk"? :shake:
Condition that these eggs are actually fertilized.

I have read that siblings already communicate with each other in the egg shell and even give warning signals.

Unfortunately today and probably also tomorrow no reports from me. I can't make it, but at least I'll see the rest of the day.

A wet day ...

Greetings!

We have little left to know, I hope
there are some fertile eggs or all, why not?

As for the sound, it is not the most repeated but it is a common part of them. There will be individuals who use it more than others. In people there are those who are whistling or humming all day and others who are nothing.

May 19th

I start briefly to wind through the day of our troubled H's. I'm in a bit of a hurry, so not in detail.

04:29 I start and I see H21 ... hear the hard wind and the rain.

In the meantime, H21 should be 'soaked'. Maybe not. I don't know how many hours of persistent wetness the upper plumage can withstand.

It is good that there are no chicks yet.

04:54 H44 lands in the nest, jumps onto the side branch and climbs a little higher.
Both H's are chirping softly ...

04:55 H44 leaves the tree, calls.

"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

06:36:04 H21 starts calling.
06:36:54 She gets up and leaves the nest with the tap on the side branch. H21 reports the departure of the nest.
Image

06:37:23 H44 takes over and calls out loudly.

07:03, 06, 11 H21 calls in the area.

07:37:45 - 50 H21 is calling pretty close.
07:38:12 She lands on the lower floor, calls H44 and then jumps into the nest.

A very quick change - understandable.
The nest bowl should get as little wet as possible.
07:38:26 H44 leaves the nest, calls.

"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

08:30 H21 gets up, begins to loosen and straighten her feathers.
Image

Then she fiddles a little. Again she picks up something from the nest bowl, keeps it in her beak and jumps with it to the side branch.
Little guests who chirped there flew away ... .
Image

31:52 - 55 She calls after she has landed on the branch. That 'something' is still in its beak.

08:32:06 H21 flies into the area and calls again.

The eggs remain without protection.
I think H21 isn't far, however.

08:37:37 She lands below the nest, calls out loudly and flutters into the platform below the side entrance. Then she jumps into the nest and quickly covers the eggs. :innocent:

09:04:48 - 06:44 a bird starts crying out. Much later, another one (or more) sets in.

H21 listens and observes ...

Unfortunately, my screenshoter is a fair weather diva. It fails in unfavorable weather conditions (especially wind). Sorry for the poor quality.

09:22:10 H44 flutters through the side entrance.
Image

H21 gets up first and H44 is immediately very devoted to the eggs.
Image

But H21 seems a bit undecided ... the last 'words' follow and she leaves the nest 09:23:26 via the branch.

The white fluffy feathers over the tail are dry again and are waving in the wind. :2thumbsup:

10:19 H44... drowsy. :innocent:

10:52:11, '12, '14 ... H21 sits somewhere in the tree and quietly sends 'Gjak'. In '27, H44 begins to answer and they both chirp to each other softly.

10:52:48 H21 lands on the side branch and 53:06 jumps over to the nest.

A talkative change.

10:53:06 H44 leaves the nest.

H21 looks very good again. :innocent:

12:56 sun ...

... 13:30 and a nice H21 :innocent:
Image

14:07 H21 works hard in the nest bowl.
It often changes its positions and bites much loosely in the branches of the nest floor.

17:07:11 H44 lands (hops) on the edge of the nest and is received by H21 meowing.

Only a minute later she gets up and starts fiddling and continues to complain to H44.

H44 swallowed a handball again. :slap: Yes, he can easily stumble there.
Image

Image

H21 continues fiddling - no change

17:08:48 H44 leaves the nest.

H21 does not cover the eggs again until 17:10.

17:27:27 A crow begins to call, in '48 another joins in.
In the following minutes the site is visited by some nagging crows.

If H21 weren't in the nest now, there would probably be an evening talk show. :D

18:45 - 19:07 time out for H21 :innocent:
Image

It is conceivable that H44 even today will offer another change or H21 will briefly leave the nest.

I hope our H's will have a calm and dry night. According to my weather forecast it should be dry for 2 days with sun / clouds and around 15 ° C (8 ° C at night).

I am saying goodbye to my quick report.
Sleep well!

May 20th

Short after work - check check ... good timing.
Just a change that gives a view of everyone - our H's, the three eggs and the weather. :innocent:

I see H21 in the nest - not soaked. That pleases me.

16:48:03 H44 flutters into the nest and seems to be welcome.
Image

H21 doesn't meow around for long, but gets up quickly and is willing to leave the nest.

She does that too:
16:48:23 With a steep left turn she turns off into the terrain.

Our young male apparently had another successful day hunting today.
Image

My thoughts are looking forward to the future - if he's a good hunter, he'll be able to look after his chicks well.

17:13:59 H21 comes back with a green branch.

She pushes it under H44 and since it is not fast enough, the branch is placed back on it.

It squeaks at 17:14:30 a particularly high-pitched note. I had to reset three times to see if it was a sound from her. :dunno:

H44 looks dreamy in the further. :innocent:
He just stands and looks ... and looks. He doesn't care about H21. H44 seems to be in another world right now.

17:16:38 H44 leaves the dream station.
