Let's assume that it's H21 ... there are some arguments in favor of it. (Voice, tail feathers and the good eyebrows, the noble demeanor )
It still looks a bit wild, especially on the head. The moult is not over yet but much more advanced than I expected!

During the last visits of H44 and H21 at least a restlessness was already to be seen in the chest plumage. The teardrop drawing was no longer particularly vertical.

It's great to be able to experience that !!! :loveshower:

This young female is not H21, she would have to feel very safe in her nest and the white plumage on the back of the wings does not correspond either. It catches my attention that the white feathers below both have somewhat spread out.

We are in the "social age" of the goshawks, where perhaps they are more tolerated with other individuals of their species (at some distance) outside the breeding season with their suitors or partner.

This young female is not H21...
Are you excluding it completely?
Yeah, I'm not quite sure either. But it certainly looks like this female is defending this nest - in a gentle way. This juvenile (also a female?) only tolerates - for this moment.
And as far as I am concerned, the older female feels confident and secure. The reputation also fits.

Today has been an almost boring day so far.
Very unsafe calls far away.
Just sure this:
10:15:08 - 13 pretty close and excited

I started seeing my videos from the beginning (Nov 20). Unfortunately, the weeks before are missing. Actually, the winter wasn't as boring as it often felt.

And when you mentioned the white feathers / spots on the back - H21 had them too.
Here are a few photos.

I am still very curious about what will happen in the next few weeks. :innocent:

The timestamps that I passed to you the other day I saw them in the YouTube Chat, I had not entered for several days and when I looked they were there. Then I reviewed all the time that is what you put in your video.

The white of the feathers on the back is not always in the same places and its arrangement also changes from individual to individual.

It is more typical of the northern juvenile Goshawks.

Hi Emiliano :hi: and @all!

September1st

Unlike yesterday, there is at least a lot of Goshawk to hear today. In a wide variety of sounds.
Most of the calls are calm. It seems our H's are having a relaxed morning together in the Territory. Unfortunately hidden in front of the camera. 8-)

Some excerpts:

07:27:53 - 28:00 excited calls, removed

08:08:34 - 08:10:40 Various calls can be heard from close by from the area. It starts with H44 and ends with the squeak of H21. (no pairing noise)

08:27:31/32 'Gjak' still from the same place / distance

08:31:34/35 hm, a strange call (Goshawk for sure)

08:38:53 - 39:10 (H44?) calm :innocent:

09:10:10 - 50 irregularly soft sounds. Still the same distance
09:13:55/56 H44 chirps

09:22:40 - 49 H44 is now calling more distantly

11:15:12, '14 ... short, gentle

The wind is unbridled today. He swallows sounds.

11:17:04 - 13 call
11:18:20 - 28 Both H's (?) with soft tones

I only hear 'scraps' but the 'conversation' continues.

September 4th

Hello together! :hi:

Oh, I only have a small window of time to follow today. Only a few minutes after work and already on the go to meet my girls (colleagues). My first evening with them again, are Covid ruled us. I'm tired but hey ... I'm happy. :shake:

However, I could already hear H44 and H21 inflagranti.

07:13:34 - 55
07:33:00 - 38

Both times the pairing sounds could be heard again.

The weather was rainy and our H's were a bit away. However, H21 has a strong voice - caught.

Unfortunately I won't be able to catch up much today.

But already now, with these few spring feelings in the middle of the beginning of autumn, I am happy!

Have a nice and healthy evening everyone! :innocent:

07:56:57 - 57:00
07:57:21 - 30 the same call, more distant

07:58:03 - 07

Somebody upsets her.

08:08:50 - 59 removed but really nice to hear this range of H21

08:09:09 - 18 great!

I'll turn the camera off hard now, otherwise I'll have to cancel my date without further ado.

I would love to be there to find out why they use these sounds.

Holla, Polly.

They are still there.

On day 1 from 6:00 to 6:01 H44 sounds
Day 3 a little later around 6:15

There are quiet days and others that seem angry.
Crows and seagulls sound but those sounds that seem to be mating I think they are anger at something, although it is true that they are very similar and I would not rule it out either.

I have reviewed mating sounds and they closely resemble those of high anger.

Greetings and I hope you are well.

...and I hope you are well.

Emiliano :innocent:
Yes, still tired but everything is fine.

The calls from our Goshawk are really very interesting.
Their range is much more enormous than I ever thought. And more beautiful than I ever thought ... :innocent:
However, I think that H44 and H21 are a very special pair in some respects.
Emiliano, you also watched the season in the Netherlands. Is the couple there also in their sounds and in their dealings with one another? At least for Boka and Lujis, I can't confirm that. Not that anyone documented it or that I observed it. :puzzled:

To the day ...
I'm still stuck in the morning hours today. A Goshawk calls for a long time. According to the current status 35 minutes. But I'm not done yet.
Also, I can't say whether it's H21 for sure ... even if I think so. I hope to hear both H's later in the day. Because if it's H21 I worry that H44 won't respond.

Even if timestamps seem boring - I'll list them anyway.

08:25:17 - 23, 52 - 57
08:26:16 - 25

08:27:08 - 15, 41 - 46
08:28:08 - 16
08:29:11 - 18, 43 - 46
08:30:05 - 11

The calls during this series and the following in the next many minutes are always very similar in sound - long (begging) tone followed by a quick call. And it's just a Goshawk (in two situations I thought two but not really)

Well, as mentioned, these calls will continue. I currently see until 8:57 am.
It is conceivable that this Goshawk will continue to call.

Single interruption:
08:37:40 a single call
-End-
(This is also where it rains heavier. Maybe I didn't hear shouts.)

Further:
08:47:42 - 48
08:47:49 - 54 different sounds but the same goshawk

nothing so far...

In fact, the last call in the morning was at 09:04:45 - 50 am (following on from the previous calls). This call is a 'normal' fast call.

So a good 30 minutes of the hawk's calls.

It is not natural to hear a couple together around this period. Not at all.
Still, I'm a little restless. Because it was different in the last few days .... No H called alone.

Let's see tomorrow.

Everyone gets to bed safely!

:hi:

The day is still in the starting blocks but our Goshawk are already in shape. At least one ...

06:02:32 - 36 Not far away, excitement can be heard.

06:11:59 - 06:27:38/39 Far away, excited calls of a goshawk can be heard over and over again. It's hard to tell if it's one of our Goshawk and definitely just one. I thought it might be in the neighborhood by now.
