LGK doesn't even look after his chick. I have no idea what about him. I hope he's healthy.

Yes, I know, that's amazing :2thumbsup:
Btw, it's a little mistake, on the photo it's father Akeakamai who is incubating:

( in other articles I found such description also ).

She returned in Dec 2020 and lied an egg:

Each year I'm awaiting her return in November and each year it's more and more surpising for me, and more incredible.

Sharyn Broni (Ranger, DOC) • 4 hours ago •
Today is day 16 for the Royalcam chick.

Check the growth of this chick and compare it to past Royalcam chicks, as well as the average weight of male and female Northern Royal Albatross from Taiaroa Head here....

https://www.doc.govt.nz/nat...

The weight today is 1.04kg, 160g down on Sunday mornings impressive weigh in at 1.2kg. This is a perfectly normal fluctuation, reflecting that LGL was early in her stint on the nest on Sunday and had given the chick a very good feed not long before the weigh in. If weighing had occurred after LGK's return and subsequent feeding today we would have found a similar increase.

The power was put for a time first thing at Taiaroa Head this morning setting the normal Tuesday weigh in back a bit as other priorities with the incubator took over. All is well now and the last egg has started hatching.

Once the final chick has hatched we will reveal the total chick numbers in the population this year and send the DNA samples from blood vessels remaining in the shell post hatching for analysis of each chicks sex.
