It's early for egg laying but not for singing and some other display activities.

At the second visit it already made some clean-ups and took an old feather (?) out, which she didn´t find pleasant to have there

I think Renno has been busy there, he wrote in February 11th:

...Still I will go and clean the lens of Tawny owl webcam and there are also last year food remains in the nestbox - I will clean it for analyzing it and put fresh wood chips for this season´s breeding (fingers crossed!)...

Thank you, Renno!

Maintenance ----> roof opened and all old stuff taken out for examination, new chips and sawdust filled in, lenses cleaned and all spider webs brushed out :D

Interesting to see how deep one has to grab into the nestbox to reach the floor!

:faint: missed it, went for shopping just moments before it started! Thanks Bea for catching it and aitäh Renno for the work. There was an amazing amount of "stuff" in the bottom!
Now the owls can come and start their business! Seeing all the mice running around at the deer cam, I hope for a good year! (I think I can't go for what is here, the other day in the morning on my way to work I met one running up the stairs of the neighbouring building carrying a piece of bread)
