It looks like the fifth egg in Makov is empty, otherwise the storklet would have hatched yesterday.

Mr. Libor Šejna
Short info about black storks: black storks are much shyer and more sensitive to interference, it is not possible to take the young off and carry them back, all young could be killed due to stress! It is not possible to feed one young separately, it is irreversibly fixed on humans and cannot be returned to nature. We would have to take two chicks, but there is a big difference between them and the result is unclear. We'll see, the feedings are in abundance, so hopefully even the youngest can do it, in case of a problem we will intervene.

So when a year ago the storklet was taken away, they wouldn't plan to return it in the nest(in the case of successful operation)?

:hi: Asteria,
I am not the speaker of Mr. Libor, write to him - ask him :shake:
(my opinion - the situation was clear to them, and the visit to the vet was possible just to satisfy the Makov fans)

If the situation was that clear, they wouldn't visit the clinic which located in 130 km from Nova Ves. Probably they thought there might be the smallest chance for treating and needed the opinion of experts.

By the way, where lived those two storklets from 2017 hatched from the eggs Tonichka neglected?

they were adopted in the wild to two different nest, one with photo-trap (one of them perished in the autumn on its first migration in Eritrea - electrocuted :-( https://albumyrajce.rajce.idnes.cz/mako ... ancatko_-/)
