Karl wants to start for days. He does not bring food, he has eaten and wants to say goodbye. Maybe he decides to fly away without saying goodbye. We will see.

Only in the nest, he decides whether he feeds or flees. His urge to feed is still very great :2thumbsup:

Thanks Solo, Thanks Summi  :gathering:

I think it's like kids, some faster, some slower. And yet, everyone comes to the destination.
Aru learns through his injury.
Karl is nice and feeds him well.
Oru and Aru were so close and kind to each other, but I believe Oru said he had to go and Aru realizes he needs a little more

I hope my translation is ok?!

Thank you, Urmas, for letting us hear/read your expert opinion and thoughts. They were very much awaited and now we can calm down.
Please do not feel driven by us laymen, i'm sure, you understand that we were worried because we got so close to the storks by observing them since season started and the eggs were laid.

Thank you, Urmas, for taking the time out of your busy schedule!

We should be glad that Aru is not making a hasty decision to fly south while in poor condition. Right now, he has the best situation for recovery.
.....
Completely agree, Ari.

:hi:
great that Aru already has practiced flying so well yesterday.
thanks for the info about that noon flight.

These feathers which are a bit damaged (and some got lost) seems belong to these which allow control of flight.
If half of it is missing could it become problematic.
That is not the case, more than half remained.

So it is probably a (well choosen) prudence of Aru to wait yet because he noticed that not everything harmonizes perfectly and he yet is unsure.

:puzzled: about flight and feathers in general, should it also belong/fit the new info collection thread? :puzzled:

:hi: Biker!

Did you notice any missing primary feathers? :puzzled: I did not.
One strange thing is the quills in the left wing feathers that Liz01 pointed out yesterday. Other than that Aru’s feathers seem fine. The feathers that are missing in the wound area are not key to flight (I think).

no, primaries are completely preserved.
The few, which are missing belong to these which enable control. this does not affect the flying ability per se.

Welcome to the forum Bibibu!
I totally agree with you, Biker. I tried to Express that thought. That is not the desire of a bird keeps its nest, but purely the inability to fly due to injury.
