Hello! Thank you for the wonderful overview and photos, Balistar and Swenja! :hi:

The camera stopped :bash:

If the stream stops it may be helpful to check on the Kotkaklubi Youtube channel. where a new link can be found. This is something done by Youtube, not the camera.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCvBXT ... Saqd19N0Sg

Another approach is to use the LK main page and choose the camera from there.
https://www.looduskalender.ee/n/
Unfortunately, the camera does not work with the previously written recommendations.
I just wrote an e-mail letter to the Kotkaklubi/Eagle Club, maybe someone can help

Balistar, Swenja, Heloise, chrisitz

I will also never forget how miserable Kaia looked after she sat on the eggs for a long time (18 hours), on 6 June last year, and how she complained to Karl II when he finally came home. At that moment she left her eggs behind for good. It was clear that, in her condition, she could not continue brooding.

Here is the picture of her departure that Swenja made.
"Kaia spoke to Karl II briefly before flying away."

Image

It does not seem impossible to me that Kaia's enthusiasm to become a mother has been tempered by this bad first experience.
Hopefully this year will be a lot better, a lot easier.

Edit: thank you for your kind words.

Hello Anne7, Swenja! :hi:

Thank you very much for the photos!
I had even forgotten how bad Kaia actually looked... :faint: today she really shines!

Camera works, that's nice!

Hopefully she won't do that again when Karl II is sitting on eggs.

.
I took a look at OrniTrack. Obviously, I cannot make a tracker map, as the location of the nest must remain secret. But I can safely say that Karl II is almost all the time in the immediate vicinity of the nest (in a radius of about 5 km), except for 2 or 3 short excursions about 15 km away. I think we can conclude from this that there is currently enough food to be found in the immediate vicinity of the nest.

I made a few pics of the mating at 13:56
In my opinion, it's getting better and better. :D

I watch the dawns in the forest... Don't you think that compared to 2017-2018 years, the forest has become somewhat rarer and more transparent in the direction directly behind the nest? But maybe it's spring... and the hardwoods are still leafless...

14:38:25 Karl II sits down. Kaia stands on the branch and goes in the nest. She touches Karl II with the beak. He stands up.

Kaia has been in the nest since 09:12. She did not fly looking for food yet.

14:43 Kaia is more ladylike. In the case of the black storks, there is also a difference between the sexes.

14:59:40 again: Karl II sits down. Kaia stands on the branch and goes in the nest. She toutches Karl II with the beak. He stands up.
