All the black stork nests with a camera had victims this year. Except the Latvian one, but as the storklets from there are untagged and even unringed it is not possible to know their fates. They fledged, the nest is empty and that is all. "An open ending".

Black storks are so vulnerable. The survival of the juvenile black storks is particularly difficult.
There are so many dangers everywhere.
We have all witnessed the difficult hatching of Tuul from the egg and how he became a beautiful black stork.
It is a great loss.
I hope Udu and Pikne have a chance.
Freedom!

I have no words. This season was so promising, at least here.
I'm sorry for you, Swenja, Tatiana and Anne and all who watched this nest.

Liz, thank you so much for your kind words!
It's all indescribably sad...
It takes time to recover from sadness ... but it is good to feel the voice of compassionate hearts.

Dear BS-lovers,

I've read everything and followed what was happening in all BS nests and i'm grieving about little Tuul's and little Malbe's fate, as many others for sure will as well.
As so often, I have a special place in my heart for the little ones, so it was with Tuul and will be forever.

Despite all the sadness, i'd like to express my deeply thanks especially to you, Anne, to Heloise, Swenja, Tatiana.
You mainly led us through the season with valuable information, wonderful pictures, videos, comments and thoughts - and all this warmhearted, which makes especially the Karls' family thread so friendly and unique.

Of course my sincere thanks goes also out for all the other involved contributors and as well to our dedicated Urmas and his colleagues.

Let us hope that the remaining young BS and their parents can lead long and happy lives against all odds. Fingers crossed.

Dear Heloise :hi:

I am happy to give that back.
You are a good person and with your warmhearted, open manner a real asset to the LK forum
Thank you for being here.

(I'm sorry I wasn't able to add much more this season, there were several reasons, one of which was unfortunately recurring major problems with my internet connection.)

Hello!
I just saw that Tuul is no longer among little brothers and sisters. First flight of an amazing and rare bird was fateful 😢
I am very sorry and saddened with you together. Be happy loved one Tuul in heaven.
