VIDEO: Ringing the black stork chicks
(GT with few corrections)
Last week, the storks got rings. The nest was checked (orig. Pesal toimetas - ?) by Urmas Sellis, who had the opportunity to talk more about this year's nesting of black storks and the situation in the nests equipped with a camera, because veterinarian Madis Leivits was engaged in ringing and analysis under the nest.

Chicks a week older
(GT with few corrections)
Again a week older, i.e. a month and a week in addition. Events for young birds during this time abound: 15. July ringing, a few days later the sparrowhawk visited the nest.
The care of the male bird Jan of his chicks is significant and the female bird Janika also feeds the chicks.

Raudkull (Accipiter nisus) = Eurasian sparrowhawk (it wasn't goshawk fortunately)

16:17:59 Jan again
- feeding: No 2 swallowed one giant fish, and No 2 ate the second regurgitated fish
correction (after more rewind in slow motion): 1 giant fish to the left for No2, the second regurgitated fish disappeared from view - No1 caught it (I suppose), and it was the third regurgitated fish that No3 ate

The balance is - No 2 - 3 fish
No 3 - 2 fish
No 1 - 1 fish
and everyone got morsels from the first soft fish.
Solo, I'd be happy if this is incorrect counting.

Summi,
true
I don't know if number 2 isn't the firstborn and number 1 is our "Sleepy"
No1 is often blocked by Jan (bad position), sometimes Jan stands directly on his feet, ...
edit:
Summi, very probably all 3 nestlings ate this time - 1 giant fish to the left for No2, the second regurgitated fish disappeared from view - No1 caught it (I suppose), and it was the third regurgitated fish that No3 ate
till now: No 1 - 2 fishes, No2 - 3 (1 giant), No3 - 2 fishes + all ate from the today first soft fish

approx. 17.59 No1 chirped and turned towards the path of arrival of adults and nodding (the siblings turned only slightly)
18:03:10
at 17.35 preening time (No2 is the blackest and NO3 is the least black)

18:35:35 Jan flies in
- feeding: very probably all ate (3 fish), thx Madli for help
- after more rewind: No 1 is sure, No 3 is sure, No 2: storklet stood with its back and fluttered its wings,
I didn't see another fish, but No2 was making movements typical of swallowing
18:36:18 Jan out
this big fish grabbed No1 (18:36:05)
and swaloved it - Summi (18:36:09)

at 16:17:59 feeding I could note only two regurgitated fish and one that I took for fish was no 1's beak in between.
Solo thank you.
Anyway I'm happy that at the last feeding the giant fish or twelve points went to no 1.
It's still great that it has been cooler this week because the energy that Jan used for bringing water for shower and beak-to-beak drinking can be now successfully spent on more feedings.
