Webcam off = Because storks have left the nest. Not nesting this spring 2014. An egg has be done but was destroyed (by ?) 24 april 2014 .

I know the storks have left the nest. But last year they left the camera on for a long long time after the storks and young left. So I thought even though no young this year, they would still leave the camera on .

I think, there are probably some technical problems, which shuts the cam down. As it appears also from time to time at other nests this year.
I'm hopefully the cam will soon work again.

The cam started working in the morning. Maybe there are already problems with the batteries?

It seems it is a bad year for Black Storks. Urmas wrote to me that his Latvian colleague Maris Strazds also found egg shells under a number of nests when checking them, and the nests being empty. About the reason he can only speculate, maybe less water in spring and thus not enough food after the strange winter.
