Good day!

So... Karula still flies in the home area, at least today, and seems to be moore cheery and happy now than yesterday.
Maru enjoys Latvian - Lithuanian borderregion, probably she have found good places there.
But where flies Päike now, and Karl ?

...
Patience, patience Treia, we'll see the two soon. Maybe Päike flies briefly to Finland?
But that's probably not a migration !?

Email from Urmas includes this information -

7161 (Päike) was in the morning still in the same surrounding where yesterday, but 7162 (Karula) did not send information since yesterday noon (nest area is not well covered with GSM network).

Hi Jo

Maybe he's on his way back to the fish farm, then there's data again 8-) Or is Päike there and was Karula further north?

edit
Urmas yesterday:
One of chicks is about 7 km of nest on some stream in forest and spent there also night,
another was yesterday about 23 km northwards, but returned by afternoon some 10 km north of nest (close to fish farm).

Or Karula on some stream?

It is interesting that Karl does not come to the nest to feed Karula. Certainly he is nearby, but his work is done now, even though one storklet is still here and is waiting for fish perhaps

I think Karula only has the nest as a resting place. He stands on the branch when he is here, turned away from the nest; he enters the nest only briefly, he is already large

Yes! At least we are very fond and like to see it.
At first it was cute, now it has become a fine young black stork, full of life and strength. :D

Maybe Karula is fond of that black stork it sees behind the protection glass of the camera box and wants to make friends with it. On the other hand it may now understand seeing a mirror image of itself. Having likely made some fishing already, it must have seen the same stork in water, as well.

Thank you for this info, Hellem and Treia!

Well done, Karula!
Good luck, sweet storklet.
May you always find plenty of food and a safe place to sleep.

This is the very last photo I took of you, the moment you left at 10:05:53 this morning.

More news in email, but you already know some of it!

KARL has started migration today.
Karula is now on the migration map as he is on the way.
Päike is still close to home so not yet on the map.
