Good evening everyone,

I'm not sure if the storklets scared each other by accident. While the storks were growling (they only did it very briefly), they all looked to the left. I've watched the moment when they got up several times, but could not see any other bird flying by.
All storklets were frozen after growling, - for a bit more than two minutes. This seems very long, - for that they have "only" scared each other. Maybe that's normal, I don't know. :puzzled:

Some more pictures of the incident.

At 22:14:50 the first storklet moved and made a PS.

This was definitely a somewhat stressful situation for the storklets.

The storklets seem to have calmed down and are recovering.

Many thanks for the reports and interesting pictures of our beautiful storks and storklets, Liz, Crissy, aquiline and Anne! :2thumbsup: All the pictures are beautiful, sometimes so funny (because of your comments  ), and I've a favorite picture almost every day.
The most beautiful ones I take as screen saver for the PCs at home and in the office.

22:52 So sweet when they cuddle up so tightly for sleeping. :D
Image

At 23:18 all three made a PS. Then they preened themselves.

23:23 The storklet sitting in front had lost a bit of his balance while preening, and stumbled. After that he probably preferred to sit down.

Good night everyone!

6:58 is the goshawk back? Storklets defending

I do not know if the hawk has seen the chick fell off as a prey. If not, he will come again!

7:05 still danger
7:25 They are still not relaxed. I hope Kati or Karl will come soon.

It fell down from very high altitude. It is probably dead. I hope so! I do not want to imagine, that our little one is seriously injured. I'm not sure, but I think the hawk has taken a part of it. He came for food.

EDIT: I think Urmas knows best if he should go there. He decides

Solo, a goshawk is able to catch big preys.. We know that the chicks do not weigh much. For a goshawk it is not a big weight.
I still feel very bad.
And I hope very much, that he doesn't come back

Hope the little stork is not hurt. What about him? Will he be saved and brought to a rescue station if alive?

I am sad, but that is daily circle of life in nature: our spirit will be eternal living, the stork's too.
And if there are cam's near the nests, we see those things or shut our eyes.

......
Well, in such a deep fall it is badly hurt or dead. And it is a prey for the goshawk.

Due to the reaction of the storklets, I think the hawk is nearby and eats. They look down!
