Suggest Names for Young Black Storks 2019.

Post by juta »

Please, suggest names for our now ringed storklets.
I think we should choose names starting with A (716A) and O (716O).
Easy to say but not that easy to do :dunno:

Preferable estonian, unisex, understandable in all languages, easy pronunciation etc.
HELP!
Any other suggestion is welcome.

So, it's easier said than done to come up with suitable names ...
^ Deleted

And even more difficult with A and O, but something …
Ado
Agu
Aive
Oldi
Olev
Olli (man's name in Finland)

Andeka (The name means: Talented One)
Onne (The name means: Luck or Joy)

By the way, the idea of A and O is pretty nice, but still one guestion... Is it a 716 0 (zero) or 716 O (letter) ?
:D

Good morning!

Anni (female), Arno (male)
Olle, Otto (male)

I can't come up with a female name with O other than Oliivia and unisex names are very hard to find.

Some names for both gender:

Oivi - both female and male name

Aiki - both gender

Aare means "treasure" - mostly male, rarely given also to female

Aule - both gender

Juta, many thanks to you for organising this topic. If an Estonian person says it is not easy and asks for help, imagine the chaos if a non-
Estonian person tried to do it!

Now that the birds have their rings I like the way their names will be linked to their ring numbers. O and A will be so easy to identify.

Aiki and Oivi would suit for me (A and O is like Alpha and Omega). :puzzled:

O and A will be so easy to identify.
The chaos is coming: Aigur and Oun.
As far as I understand, these two words are not names in the literal sense, but for a foreigner they look like unisex names. I do not urge to use them, this is my weak (and probably useless) attempt to push the Estonians in any direction.

Treia, not yet! When members have had enough time to give their suggestions, then Juta will tell us when to vote. For now we are simply gathering suggestions for names.

Regardless of whether they are acceptable to both gender, for me foreigner they sound good to both, my suggestions:

Ain and Ott
e.g. also Aini and Otti

Anu and Ott

Alari and Oivi

But Aiki and Oivi would suit me as well :D

balistar, when it is time to vote I shall prefer Ain and Ott. Both important names for our black storks.

Aare and Oivi

Maybe õnn

I use the google translator and the word "luck" (Glück in deutsch) means õnn;)
I am not sure if the õ is pronounced like an O.
Sorry for my english; I use online translators
