We wish you well Spot.I am glad he has recovered so quickly.
Was it wise to release him so late in the season ? Well suppose so if the Eagle Club said so.
Fly well Spot, eat lots of mice/mules/frogs so you get lots of strength.

I think it was a good decision - I'm afraid all the long winter in captivity would have been just awful...

I'm so happy to hear that Spot was healed and released! He is meant to be free and wild (I agree with visitor that a long winter in captivity would not have been good for him)

It is good that Spot was released, but does he know where to fly? His "relative" Tõnn won't call and tell him "Hi Spot, don't go to Africa, better fly to Spain, we have lots of frogs here and the way is shorter".

Really really great news!!
I wish him/her all the best for his/her migration south.
Asteria, birds know where to fly. Their instict (or whatever it is) is amazing... Just think of carrier pigeons for instance.

But what makes individuals choose particular places when a wide area is possible for the species? Tõnn obviously didn't do as his parents in choosing winter quarters.Ricky wrote:Really really great news!!
