Health warning - there are more than 200 pages!
I think we had to wait for them to settle down, once the eggs arrived.

In 2009, Eha laid the first egg on April 21 (late afternoon), so I think there is still time here.

I had not the time to constantly watch the nests yesterday as I had my daughter and her boyfriend over for Easter brunch, I sneaked a peek from time to time and also heard eagles calling (was the form BS nest I guess), but I don't think that I saw anybody on this nest yesterday.

Eha also laid the second egg on 26th of April and if now she laids only one egg it will be much better than two.

*Sigh* Nobody here . . . such a lovely nest, too. I hate to see it empty & abandoned (apparently).

Why did they abandon this nest? Could they have another in the area? Sometimes I think I hear them in the distance. And once in a while (but seldom) they show up here.

Some pictures I made on 27 April. The male, Koit, appeared suddenly with a lizard in his beak. He looked around as if wondering where Eha was, dropped the lizard down for a moment, then picked it up again & flew off to the right side of screen, as if he had remembered where an alternative nest is located where she would be. So I think they do have another nest nearby that they preferred for some reason.

Urmas, do the LSEs make secondary nests & then choose one to use when egg-laying is close to happening?Urmas wrote:8:23 Koit appeared on the nest called intensively and left couple of minutes later.

We have no such knowledge, that they build up several nests (though exceptions could happen, like everywhere). But there is a lot to investigate in their behavior...
6:08 (probably) Koit arrived to nest with a bill full of dry grass, arranged that, jumped on branch, preened and left 6:13

This seems a little dangerous as eagles have been here recently.
