AERON IS BACK!!!!

Caught intruding on his natal Dyfi nest, we also spotted Aeron (Blue Z2 - 2017) last year as a two year-old.
We think Aeron has been in north and mid Wales over the last two weeks, along-side his full brother, Tegid. Slowly the jig-saw is coming together and making sense!

EDIT

Sharp-eyed BGGW volunteer Elfyn Lewis was quick to react with his camera when he saw this ringed Osprey on the Glaslyn near the Cob at Porthmadog at 12.50 this afternoon.

The Osprey is Blue Z2 / "Aeron" one of the Dyfi offspring from 2017. He visited his natal nest on Sunday and was also seen in Wales last year.

As the realisation that Monty is not returning to us after nine consecutive years of breeding sets in, it was a poignant moment yesterday when his beneficiary, Idris, was using the birch perch. So many memories of Monty.

Over the years at DOP we often call this The Monty Perch.

We see no reason to stop.

Idris has been here exactly one month this afternoon.
It's been a very emotional month, a lot of hurt with Monty not returning, but despite their odd tiff, Idris and Telyn have been getting on really well together.

Successful parents always work well as a team.
See how quick and efficient this morning's incubation changeover is...

Still eager to impress his new partner, Idris seems to think that the larger the gift, the better.
Maybe someone needs to tell him that size doesn't matter?

A quick flypass by Tegid this evening, he's the third Dyfi bird we've seen this year!

Aeron visited 19th April and Dinas on 10th May. Must be some kind of a record...

We've had two days of continuous 60mph winds on the Dyfi, we're really not sure how Idris managed to catch a large mullet in gale force weather!
