We're pretty sure that the intruder that we see most days around the Dyfi is our own Aeron, Monty and Glesni's son from 2017.
The good news is we think he is travelling around with a female. Here he is just 12 miles away yesterday on the Clywedog nest.

(Usual disclaimer: we have other nest platforms up and there are plenty of nesting sites around).

We've managed to identify yesterday's intruding osprey - she's a local girl.
We think she has a boyfriend too - he's even more local.

What an incredible mother Telyn has been at the Dyfi during the last three years since taking over the helm from Glesni.
Eight chicks in that time, one of which has already returned to Wales (Dinas - he's still on Anglesey)
There are no flies on Telyn 🦗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🦗

We have a pair of ospreys just turned up unnanounced!

Both two-year olds (2018 birds)
Blue 014 from Poole Harbour - female
Blue 284 from Esthwaite, Cumbria - male

Late season visitors looking to pair up next year no doubt.

In over 10 years we have never seen a day like yesterday.

Soon after we told you about TWO intruding ospreys landing on the nest, unbelievably, they were soon joined by a THIRD!
Another male, ringed, Scottish this time, and yet another two-year old. This one is LJ2 - we have also seen him earlier on in the season.
We affectionately call him Long John Toe because of his large second toe on his right foot.

We'll try and make a video, blog and some sense of all of this by tonight for you.

Hats at the ready... we think Telyn has gone.
We last saw her Friday (14th), a week ago.

You've been an amazing mother for your third year in a row. Until next year, bon voyage.

STOP PRESS

Tywi is back after his three day holiday!
Better cancel ours..

Dyfi Osprey Project :
He was waiting for the DOP Facebook post saying he had gone. It's an annual trick.

Tywi has started his migration, we last saw him Friday afternoon at just before 2pm when he was 86.9 days old.

Tywi becomes the 22nd juvenile to migrate from this nest, let's hope we see him back in 2022.

We've seen big changes in Teifi this weekend.
From being fairly passive to other ospreys, he now strongly defends the nest having become especially territorial.
Even his brother was not welcome; has Tywi started his migration?
