I think in meanwhile the youngster is alone still there. I've not seen Beaumont since yesterday morning, he brought a smaller fish for breakfast. The chick was eating leftovers from previous fishes yesterday in the evening. I'm a bit worry about her. She spends a lot of time on the nest, she was often still there for overnight.
I cross my fingers, that the kick to leave for migration comes soon and hopefully she learns to catch fishes for herself.

Newfoundland Ospreys

I guess, yesterday at 3.October Beaumont and his offspring are gone for their long journey. The chick overnighted again on the nest, last sight from her against 9:30. Stay safe my friends, hope for a healthy return from Beaumont and Hope next spring.

From what I read, Beaumont was together at first with an other female, which he found during last season. But suddenly she left him alone.
Later he found "Hope". That was the reason for the later breeding, how I documentated earlier Hope was a first timer.
All three eggs were viable and all hatched. Two of the chicks died on the nest, Hope consumed both later. Only one chick could make it ...but I'm happy for this one.

Thank you very much, Birdfriend, for your report and all the beautiful pictures with which you spoiled us.
I'm sorry for the loss of the two other chicks.

Wish the remained chick and Beaumont and Hope a safe journey.
See you next season
