We have lost another chick here in Urdabai northern Spain.
First Zuri the albino, now an apparently healthy second chick has died overnight.
So many hopes are pinned on the third.

And this morning our third chick has died.
There has been a lot of rain here and the osprets were very wet, but is this a common cause of chick death?
I have been watching other nests for many years now and I have seen many storms and heavy rains, but never seen apparently healthy chicks die so suddenly.
The final chick seemed to have some type of seizure. It stretched and jerked it's neck in a very strange way. I wonder if there was some genetic component at work here, as this is the nest of the albino baby.
I would love to hear others thoughts.

Bird flu could have been a reason.

To learn the cause of death it is necessary to examine the dead bodies as it was done in Estonian WTE nest. There could be different reasons: maybe poisoned fish or some genetic diseases or infection.

Looks like we'll never know.
The team at Urdaibai Bird Center went to the nest with the idea of recovering the last body for a necropsy... And to their surprise, Landa the female had removed the chick just moments earlier.
A very sad and frustrating day.

Goitzsche Wildnis
The second remaining chick has been in the same position since yesterday evening.
I do not know what happened.
21:40 The chick was already looking apathetic. It beeps at its mother, tries to shake itself but fails. In the meantime it can no longer even stand or walk. It almost falls into the corner, tries to get up again, but it has no more strength.
There is no information to be found on the Goitzsche Wildnis website.
Edit:
The death of the young animal has meanwhile been confirmed. The website updated.
Males and females sit on the mast ... it's raining.
A stunned sight. The Osprey was that advanced. :/

@mod, thanks for your info. I haven't been able to look again until now.
I was hoping they would.
Last night I was able to wind the rewind, also took pictures, but I don't want to set them. It hurts to see an animal dying.
I suspected dehydration. But it can be anything in our imagination.
Crows were already tampering with the young bird's body.
I've tried to understand something, but it's hard.
They tried to recover the older one, but found only feathers. Everything was taken.
Now the second strong chick ... I'll wait for the result.

Oh, that is incredible sad for the poor parents. I'm not followed here after the chicks hatched. Maybe it could be a disease or poison the reason for the chicks death.
One parent is there. I'm not sure, if it is the male or female.
Both on the nest. Female is calling, the male is in defensive posture. Bonding ritual.
Edit: Around 20:04 I opened the stream again, the female is asking for fish since long. Then a crow came with an egg in the beak followed by kestrel. Maybe an egg stoled from that pair.
