MAR. 3.

F and M - will be my names for the couple here.
The camera has now startet to run for more hours during the day.
There has been seen some sights of the new WTE couple at this nest situated at Saxfjed, Denmark.
The couple has been doing reconstruction throughout the winter and the last days - 29/2 - 1/3 - 2/3
the eagles have been working together with sticks and straw in the nest.
A bird - probably an Eurasian Coot - has been eaten on the 1. of Mar. at 14.15.

Mar. 2. Several visits were seen.

And this morning there has been 3 visits already.
Seen at 06.53 and 08.05.
08.56 Another Coot is brought to nest, covered and eaten by M
09.09 F pulls half of the coot to itself without much protest and continues eating.
Image

I got some scr shots of the right wing of F

And of the wing of M

09.44 M out after some rest on the edges.
09.55 F out after some rest laying also in the nest bowl.

The eagles are singing an using the nest for eating as we saw yesterday.
But I think too little nestwork has been done at this nest.
A little straw is what I see as new material. . Very little sticks brought in.
2 pictures here

It is always a hope, that a juvie is one of the original parents' offspring (as Samson proved to be at Hamlet)

Mature birds are generally uniformly brown, with yellowish heads and bright white tails. Juveniles are a darker reddish brown with black tips to their feathers. Their tails are dark, but may sometimes shine palely against the sky when seen from below. Juveniles have a narrow whitish stripe along their underwing coverts, and whitish axillary patches. Juveniles only gain their adult plumage at the age of 4–5 years. Younger adults resemble older birds, but the tips of their white tails may still be marked with a narrow dark band.
