Today morning Mirka added in the nest two eggs from incubator. But as the nest view is not shown this year one can't say how many eggs are now in the nest.

 Weird things are going on in the nest of Malena and Klepetan:
Dear members, if you didn't know...
real Klepetan probably did not arrived. The current stork is acting weird, he came for meal and than he's gone for 2 days. Malena is probably frustrated and thats why she destroyed 2 eggs. She even demolished the nest , not completely but all new material which this male brought is removed. My dad thinks that Klepetan is old and that he is going to die. I believe this is not him so this thoughts will remain here in this group.

Yesterday in Makov guestbook Libor wrote that unfortunately Barunka laid only one egg and refused to incubate it.

That is what he wrote:
libor, makov

It's a shame, they worked so much to make them the area for nesting and all was in vain.

Unfortunately, I do not understand anything from the guestbook; Ski bus, visit, Botsfahrt ....
..and at the end; she stops
:help:

I understand that (because I speak Croatian) ... Translation to Englich is catatrophic.

Swan has laid an egg. And then it was done.
Couple of swans .... our swans ... do not want anymore.
... .. she stopped laying eggs.

is that correct ?

Female swan from Makov laid 1 egg, but she incubated not, nesting ended. The reason was very simply - on the ponds are also one wild swan pair and that male she like better, than her. So when this male swam on the pond she immediately was away from nest and stopped the egg laying.

Libor wrote that Barunka refused to incubate the egg, so the nesting was over and it happened because there was one more swan couple in the pond and Barunka liked the male from that couple more than Barunek. Anyway, no successful breeding this year. :(

Young stork has injured knee joint with little chance of cure, probably it is a congenital defect ...wrote Mr. Šejna (Libor)

:hi:

This is a catastrophic season for this couple

There is still the very late egg, 12 days after second (which didn't hatch). Will the last one hatch?? :puzzled:

I love this couple so much! It breaks my heart. :slap:

:hi:

No, Abigyl, the catastrophic season is for Gemenc storks, because whatever happens, nobody will help them, but in Makov the storks get all the possible assistance, they have a roof under the nest and enough food. Moreover, the chickens are cut into small pieces for the little one!(although the raven steals its food :()The storklet twice was taken to vets, but it is well fed and looks happy, the eggs are to hatch in the nearest days. The first chick hatched from the second egg, because the very first one was plane.

The season is tough but not catastrophic.
