the chief of Rescue Station Mr. Libor Šejna wrote nothing about this eventuality (that is very, very probably only idea of asteria)
I remember not about Bubo Bubo in this RS

I wrote "probably" because I didn't see the records of Makov recent patients, but they do accept and treat eagle owls. At least one eagle owl does live in Makov aviary

 - you wrote: "The eagle owl probably was treated in Makov before and then released too close to the resque station"

- Mr. Šejna always informs especially about valuable treated and released birds
- the animals are released at the places of finding (or nearby - on one safe place) where their nesting territory is presumed

Anyway, the female sparrowhawk in 2018 and the tawny owl last year returned for hunting in Makov very soon after they were released.

As well as Honzik and Elishka, they are not a couple. Maybe the young stork will be released in Spring. But if he stays in Makov, hope they'll keep him away from Honzik.

asteria wrote: December 6th, 2020, 8:54 am The eagle owl probably was treated in Makov before and then released too close to the resque station. It is a smart bird and found the way back. In previous years a sparrowhawk and a tawny owl did the same.

Hope if ever any gull appears in Makov again, it will stay only near black pond in the summer and in the aviary in winter, like T&T. Open pond area is mortal for them: all the three ones died because of three different reasons.
:hi:
i remembered an article about an injured Eagle Owl which was brought to that RS (Záchranné stanice živočichů Makov) in 2019.
i found the link
https://pisecky.denik.cz/zpravy_region/ ... 90506.html
Bubo bubo was treated and a release on case of cure was considered.
May be it was that bird which you meant, asteria?

here
http://makov.kpb.cz/index.php?lang=cz&a ... hoto_id=12
is a re-release of an Eagle Owl by Libor Šejna documented, but i don't know neither the date of that event, nor whether these two mentioned birds were the same.

We'll see in two months. Hope the newbie is only wintering and will be released in spring, otherwise it will have to stay in the aviary and not in the nest area.

:hi: Biker,
- that must be older situation, maybe years ago; in the album "receipt and release of the animal" that is the oldest photo https://www.makov.cz/galerie/prijem-a-v ... cichu-22-5

- Mr. Šejna wrote in Guest Book to the accident with sea gull: "during the station's existence it is the first proven eagle owl attack" and he didn't mention the possibility that it could be their former patient

Yes, Solo :hi:
in the meantime ( ) I've discovered the time stamp at the bottom..
2010.

About the other injured eagle owl, from may 2019, I could not find any further infos. But his chances of recovery were apparently quite good and possibly this could also be released.

"Yesterday in the evening we returned to the wild the eagle owl, which we received about 14 days ago. It was wound impaled on a fence, it had a wire stuck in the wing, which had to be taken out in Veterina-Pisek (Solo: VET in Písek, Písek is the nearby town) - thank you for the great care!
So good luck to him."
