What a wild day it is here at the sea. It makes me think of the seals & how they would swim in waves like these & just bob about like corks! I really miss them.

Good day :hi:
Really bad weather in Kasmu today :slap: No Swans to see into the sea, but there are some birds that defay the weather up in the air. I think they like it

Brrrrrr! It looks very cold, too, although the waves are not as big today. Still fairly big, though.

Kitty, and everyone - On the Index Page we still have Grey Seal Webcam Forum.
We click through the Grey Seal title page to get to Kasmu.
The sad thing is that there is no sign that we shall ever see our seals or that island again.

Shall we give an honourable retirement to the Grey Seal Webcam Forum, and simply replace it with Kasmu Webcam Forum?

Tell me what you think, please.

agree Jo

It remains a lack that we can no longer watch.
I miss the Eagles there as well.
And the Ducks, the goldeneyes, the Fox, the Hooded Crows, the waves, the view.
It is no different, we'll have to get used

Styria = Kernöl, Murauer, Puntigamer and Gösser Bier. :rotf:

EDITH: many years ago - I was on the Hochlantsch/Mürztal.
I like Kernöl very much and I am amazed, because you can remember some Styrian beer brands for many years. I am not a beer drinker, sometimes I prefer a glas of vine.
Maybe you even know Judenburg, the capital of district Murtal? I am living some minutes by car from there.

 How sad not to be able to see them again. I enjoyed very much the one season I got to watch & hoped for many more. There was always something going on at that cam, WTEs, crows, foxes, seals, & of course, the square waves & fantastic sunrises & sunsets, not to mention the amazing ice formations in winter. But, if there is no way to get the cam back, I guess the forum should be retired. We can always still go back & look at the archived pictures if they stay available.

Then, sometime today I will put the Grey Seal Forum into archive and lock it - that means it is still available to read but new posts are not possible.
Then we can see Kasmu webcam forum on the index page.

i think it is wisest to make the situation "official" and start a Käsmu-board. if the seal camera is ever restored we can start the seal cam forum again. (even though it looks desperate i think that the pig can't stay on the island forever. maybe after that there will be some hope of getting the camera back. let's keep our fingers crossed... :innocent: )

i have kept an eye daily on that one ship, AS Latvia, which was loitering in front of the Estonian coast on the other side of the peninsula to the left (=West) of Käsmu. yesterday it was gone, "out of range" said Live Ships. it was sailing there back and forth or actually almost drifting since Dec 30th. it was "awaiting orders" as its status was reported. that was odd...

EDIT: i was wrong: today AS Latvia is there again! :slap: it had to be missing data or something like that yesterday...

Sounds good, Jo. The Käsmu cam is, after all, about wildlife-- the swans, crows, gulls, ravens, once a deer & another time a fox, as well as cats & dogs, & people who sometimes act funny for us when they know we may be watching. And there was a lot of "wildlife" at the New Year celebration! That was wild. . .

I noticed now that the Grey Seal Forum is closed. So I cannot write there a thank you for everything people did for this cam. Let me please say it here.
So we will continue watching the Käsmu Cam with nice sunrises and sunsets, interesting views of the clouds, the see with its animal-life, people walking along, celebrating etc.
