I might be wrong, but she looks like a hawk. And if so, then this is very bad.

Thanks to Väinämöinen!

In any case not a good neighbor thinking of little osprets ... or does it only hunt small birds in flight? :puzzled:

Yes, usually fishing and eating fish at Iiris and Ivo takes 2 to 3 hours. And yesterday Iiris first flew in the sky chasing the intruder, and after that she was not visible for 5 hours.
And she was absent from the nest for 7 hours. For all 32 days of observation, such a long absence was observed for the first time. So I was so happy that she came back. :headroll:
I mean that if the bird is not in the field of view of this camera, it does not mean that it is not nearby :). and the intruder is dangerous. recently a male in a Finnish nest was injured. I do not know if it is possible to put links to other osprey nests here, but I'll try. :)

Good morning everyone

zuza, I agree, Ivo and Iiris often sit in different trees around the nest, and we cannot see what is outside the camera. But if you trace the statistics of their change at the nest, and I tried to be more accurate these days, then the longest absence at the nest for Ivo was 5 hours, for Iiris the day before yesterday - 7. At the nest, not around it.

And Iiris was absent 5 hours after a small fight with another osprey. Which also added a little fire to my excitement. :help:

I remember this incident with Ivo, 4 years ago, when Irma was still with us. After the fight with the intruder, Ivo flew away for day and until night he was not visible. He first appeared on camera only the next day at 5 am.

Seeing what problems are encountered on many cameras in different countries, we worry about this nest, I want both Ivo and Iiris to be able to raise their chicks this season, any deviation from the norm worries.

On the other hand, the statistics that we record here help us to better understand the life of birds and not worry in vain if the birds are not visible a little more than usual. But I start to worry very quickly and I will worry :D
