MARE reached her nesting area but flew further to the north (she spent a lot of time there last summer) :puzzled:

- localisation: Polessky forest area near Daľneye, Polessky District in Kaliningrad Oblast, RUSSIA

Polessky district: The land is crossed by the river Deima and a dense net of smaller channels and streams. It is a favourite place with such rare species of birds like black stork and white-tailed eagle, as well as cormorants and grey heron. The place is called "beavers empire". The damp forests abound in game, mushrooms and berries. The rivers and lakes are rich with fish (pike, perch, tench, bream, etc.) there is a pike-breeding station there. The territory holds some natural places of interest, orthodox nunnery, historical monument - German church of 15 century.

FRANCE – Turek rested one day northeast of the city of Allogna in the field. It spent two nights here. The next day it headed northeast and it spent the night west of Verdun (It’s known as the site of the Battle of Verdun ), north of Parois village on the tree.
In the morning it continued north and its last noon location is just before the French-Belgian border over the forest (probably in flight)

thank you for all the news about Mare. I'm glad she's fine and she's back home :D
She came back a little late, will she still nest? We'll see what the next days bring.
