now I understand what GPS *beacon means* . (that was my translation from french)

***It's better, I do not write anything, I just take pictures. Otherwise I see free-roaming polar bears in France or Spain.

:rotf: don't worry sova, tönn has an enormous fan-club, and the fans want to inform all birders on time, to give a chance for the next early morning.

btw: if you would really enjoy to see a polar bear in france, i could tell you where (there used to be the famous female "flocke" of nuremberg :D )

i only hope that weather turns round for tönn's next flights. but if he decides to stay there, it's not the worse area 8-) but slowly but surely they will get snow in the region a little bit more upside. however tönn is a discoverer and i'm sure that he knows, what to do. at least he is model for so many photographers 8-)

 hellem, sova and all: go on enjoying!

Hello to all! :hi:
Tõnn is located close to Besançon. For me this is a historical place, it is connected with classical literature - Stendhal’s novel “Le Rouge et le Noir”. :D

Hellem, sova, aquiline, IceAge, pica and all! :2thumbsup:

7th November 2019:

This is what is reported in ornitho.fr:

'jeudi 7 novembre 2019
Les Grands Chênes / Morre (25)
1 Aigle criard (Aquila clanga) [Emilien Vadam ] [Willy Hugedet ]

And here the translation:

Remark by Emlien Vadam: In flight some seconds around 7:45 hours. Takes off from the woods then goes down some 10 metres or so farther in direction
south-west. Observation together with Thibaut Rivière and Clément Abrassart.
Comment by Willy Hudeget: Very nice observation of Tönn at around 12:35 hrs. (with Guy Pascal). Was still at place, seems as if he rested
somewhere to the north of RN57 ('Route National'), on the side of Saône.
Details by Willy Hugedet: 1x male adult

Tönn hangs about an 'étang' - nice place for food I guess.

The three observers sure are happy that he stays in the area.

Hello everyone,

Birdmap update Tõnn

Last data: 07.11.2019
Distance: 2479 km, between Morre and Saône in France

In the basemap it looks as if Tõnn is in an area of swamp. But in satellite view it doesn't look like it; there's dense forest.

Rita, your words are again incomprehensible. In fact there is no word for 'etang' in the English language. It's a pity I can't understand what you're saying.

Sova :hi:, thank you for the GE picture. There are really wetlands. :D
I wouldn't believe it when I see the dense forest from above.

Edit:
There are ponds here, too.

I am awfull sorry, Michi, for your distress - étang is indeed not english, it is a french word. Search for 'swamp', 'wetland' and the like and you have it.

Any other problem, Michi?
