If i saw it right, KARL II started very early with the first light....

Today we're going to be sticking to the screen with ears and eyes wide open and watching the nest.

Karl II's position today at 10:36 (UTC+3)

This region in Latvia also seems to be a beautiful area for Black Storks. There are many lakes.

Hellem, thank you for telling us.
This is such sad news.

Maybe Auda was ill or weak, - like Karula? Why else did he stay there in the south for so long?
This is certainly also very bitter for Urmas and his friends. Auda did not even survive one year with transmitter.
I hope, at least they will find the transmitter.

Poor Auda. Rest in peace, my dear.

.
This is very sad news.

😢

Poor Auda, what can we say?
I have no words left.

Only this little poem, for you, for Karula, for all our perished Black Storks ...

May the winds blow softly
and whisper in your ear
how much we loved you
and wish you were still here

Concerning AUDA, i hope he is just taking a little break, a stop-over, where he is currently and may continue the flight when he filled up his ressources.
...
and then today this very sad news. First KARULA, now AUDA, it's devastating

EDIT:
AUDA's description on birdmap:
"Adult Black Stork who breeds in Saaremaa island, Estonia. Started autumn migration in 1st of September 2020, though had late chicks in nest."

***' i don't know if i'm allowed to post these pictures of AUDA. If not, please Jo or juta, remove them.****

AUDA 21.08.2020, after was tagged and got the transmitter

How heartbreaking it must be for Urmas, Ruudi, Rein and Riste, especially for the children.
My condolences go to you.

Hello everyone

Is there only sad news this year?

Auda, the wind should carry you across the rainbow bridge.
Take with you my best regards for Karula.

Michi, :hi: normally this evening Juta will make the tracker map.
It’s possible to show Karl II’s route until the Estonian border (but not any further, as you know).
At least it will be clear if (the tracker-map-)Karl II has already reached Estonia, or not.
And if so, we can see if he flew to the Karula National Park area.
Without showing or unveiling his exact location, we can report where he is.

I’m very curious too.

Anne, many thanks for the information.
I will be very content to know whether Karl II reached Estonia and what direction he took there. :D
Hopefully he is well.
