Thank you, Juta

Hahaha, our KARL II has a great sense of suspense... and humour.

He decided to spend the night in Latvia, about 2 or 3 km before the border with Estonia.

Today, he flew 295 km. (the entire day)
His battery is still at 100%

Karl wants to arrive at daylight, certainly expecting the greeting orchestra and red carpet!

Thank you very much, Juta!

Anne, Jo

I must say, I'm quite relieved. So everything is o.k. (my constant worries ... )
Karl II is in the near of the Karula national park. This makes me believe that our Karl II we know from the nest is the same stork we watched via Birdmap. But even there, a (very, very little) residual risk remains.

What a day of waiting ... hours near the computer ...
I would never have believed that Karl II would take a whole day's break so close to the finish. But he was probably just totally exhausted.

That is indeed ambitious! I usually don't fall asleep until 3 or 3:30 too.
Maybe I just look at the mobile with one eye to see if he's there. :D

Here's the weather forecast for KARL II, tomorrow.

Juta, I hope Võru is close enough to Karl II's route?

And here the forecast for Valga

Karl II took several breaks on his flight across Latvia. Beside of the break, Anne has posted (15:46 – 16:26 UTC+3), Karl II made already earlier a break from 13:46 – 15:06 UTC+3.

Image

He had very different flying speeds. For example, since 10:36 he flew sometimes 61 km/h, 45 km/h, then 13, 28, 50, 64, 46, 12 and then 68 km/h. It changed very frequently. The highest speed today was 84 km/h, - at 13:16 UTC+3.

Thank you, Anne!
The wind direction seems to be o.k. SSE sounds not bad. The temperature is quite low in the early morning hours, but that will probably not affect Karl II.
