Re: Following Karls' Families
Many thanks to all you busy stork friends for information and pictures. I am so glad to see that Aru is finding the right direction. It was very interesting to follow him step by step. Thank you Anne

Is our little Karula moving on?
Or just exploring a new area?
Today's track, September 13

Sorry, but I see twice Oru's map.
ORU
Oru spent the complete day in the Nature Reserve Warzewo.
Perhaps it has been raining?

But, OMG, what is Aru doing?
ARU
This is Aru's track of the complete day:
OK. Here is the start
Our little ARU spent the night in a tree close to that pond near Skorvody in Belarus.
At 06:23:05 (UTC+3), s/he woke up and had breakfast in the pond until 10:47:41 (UTC+3) .
A relaxed morning.
At 10:52:41 (UTC+3), Aru decided to move on.
S/he flew non-stop southeastwards towards Navahrudak and Motcha.
In a straight line, it is about 75 km, I believe.

He went south, then ran back to the north!

Yes, he did!
He flew a long way, and is returning to where he came from.
Next step:
Near Motcha, in Navahrudak, ARU flew over the partly restored ruins of an old Castle.
The former castle in Navahrudak, Belarus was one of the key strongholds of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, cited by Maciej Stryjkowski as the location of Mindaugas's coronation as King of Lithuania as well as his likely burial place. Modern historians cannot make up their minds as to the true location of Mindaugas's coronation.

Aru just made a touristic daytrip to see that castle, today.
Let's continue:
ARU flew past Motcha, but changed his mind and returned to irrigated fields(?) a bit north of Motcha, in a tiny village called Ispos’, at 14:37:35 (UTC+3). Lunchtime. So far so good.
But then he continued flying all the way back...
His current night area, near Khoruzhevtsy:
