21:26 Good night!
The chick is 74 days old tonight and is increasingly finding the cradle a little cramped...
A note on the Negev camera(s): the stream is off.

19:01 More begging (an ordinary evening) - the begging is heard clearly in the feeding station camera
19:16 Mom's instinct drives her back to the nest box
19:20 Mom moved some hay around, but she did not feed the chick

19:35 The chick decides to retire early today
20:38 Good night!
The chick is 75 days old. It appears that (s)he might start trying to sleep like an adult (standing up) in the next few days.

The southern stream is back - and so are the Egyptian vulture fledgelings!

17:10 Down to one

23:44 The nest is empty now too...
... and it's time for me to step back. Over the next couple of weeks I won't be able to contribute much, though I'll do my best to keep an eye on the chick and the adoptive parents from time to time. The road ahead is still a long one - after all, the Negev chicks took around 20 weeks +/- 4 days to fledge, while the northern griffon is still a couple of days short of 11 weeks of age.
I'm aware that I have hogged this thread but if you feel like posting here, you're more than welcome.
Cheers!

The Negev desert:
The Egyptian vulture chicks came back home:
The nest upstairs was occupied by T90 and T53, two relatively young griffons (T90 is preening T53 in the image):
They're a handsome couple, but probably still too young to raise a chick next season

This reminded me of how the chick had struggled to cross over to the northern section of the ledge:
Watching the fledgeling this afternoon turned into a sentimental journey:
Then Mom came to feed the youngster:
