Some intruder(s) caused a minor disturbance:


Dad kept protecting the chick:


Dad jumped up to stretch the wings a bit:

Then he decided to stretch his wings for real:

Dad came back after just 3 minutes:

It's not food - just a bunch of fresh and soft moss:

It's been a very quiet day:

Another disturbance - the ruff and the tail are up, the wings are spread wide, and Dad is stepping emphatically to drive the intruder(s) away:


Mom has stayed away the whole day:


Dad and the chick were comfortably asleep when the stream stopped at 21:38:

4 June

Due to the weather, the stream started a little later than normal, at 07:12:


Dad was still in charge of the chick:


He took off to warm up a bit:

All alone in the huge nest, the chick didn't look too comfortable:


Dad came back after less than three minutes:


Later on he flapped his wings with force to shake off the rainwater:

No kid, Daddy isn't going anywhere:


The rain stopped, the feathers dried:


Dad broke into the defensive mode:

The young male looks quite a shield:


Let's hope Mom comes back today:


I can see her coming!

Mom landed a few second later:


Dad finally got a proper chance to stretch his wings:


Mom proceeded to feed the chick:

The little one's crop seemed to have filled quickly:


The reinvigorated chick kept asking for more:

10 minutes later the female hopped onto one of the branches:


The chick addressed Dad under Mom's watchful eye:

Dad left at 18:33:

He then came back at 18:36:


At 18:39 Mom came down into the nest too:


Dad left again at 18:40:

So what did you get from Daddy?


Daddy re-entered just second later, still at 18:51:


Both the parents over the chick:

Dad was off at 18:52:


He won't be coming back again today:


La hembra began to feed the chick:

The chick kept pecking at Mom's beak:


And Mom complied with the little one's requests:


Another chunk made its way out of Mom's beak:

While preening, the chick demonstrated his/her crop to the world:
