We are meeting here to observe the life of Eagle Owl couple Lotte and Leo.

Lotte and Leo are the resident couple for the sixth year now

Their territory is in Germany, Eifel area, near the river "Ahr"

Hooting around the traditional nest place, I am not 100% sure, but I think I heard Leo farther away short before one could hear Lotte close.
Short before the cam moves upwards to Lotte on the roof a mouse escapes from traditional nest place before Lotte could think about having her for breakfast :mrgreen:

Lotte arrives on a rock nose lower from Leo´s perching point (which is close to the time stamp in the picture)

Few seconds later Leo takes off and flies over to the traditional nest place, he struggles a bit with the dry branch :D

Lotte pooped and left, after she was on the roof for about three hours, observing her territory



On some days in the (~about) last two weeks I also heard sometimes a Tawny Owl calling

Lotte (?) was on the opposite ridge from 17:39 to 19:23

They kept talking with each other and Lotte made a few renovations around the nest bowl :D

She had her left eye nearly completely closed for a while and only the right one was opened, but it looks that the left eye works "normal" when she needs it ...
