Snowy Owl in Alaska
July 13th
Even in Alaska birds are disturbed by people. Today about noon (nest time) two people came close to Snowy Owl nest and scared her away. Then they approached to the cam and somebody else (out of view, I could hear only the voice) asked them to go away.

Snowy Owl in Alaska
I was watching this camera from time to time, but it was stopped yesterday. There were 8 eggs, only 2 owlets survived and had dispersed from their nest. Sometimes I was lucky to spot Snowy Owl or owlet, but equally often I saw Denver Holt or his associates. Denver Holt is a wildlife researcher, he is studying Snowy Owls for the last 23 years. In the meantime I read information on these owls and some interviews with Denver. One can find it here:

I saw today both owls during the day.
One inside the hollow, the other in the entrance.

Mamicja, thank you for the really nice pictures!
It's very interesting to see a tree from inside. :D
The Tawny owls have much more space in this cave than in the artificial houses.
