Mamicja, I like your great collage.
You have placed Stefan Brücher, the man with the extraordinary big heart for Owls, in the heart of your collage. A wonderful idea!

I think it is Lotte, and a male was to be heard, Leo? And sometimes in the last days I have also heard another sound, just like the little ones

oh, really? Lotte? therefore the voice is different!romy wrote:I think it is Lotte, and a male was to be heard, Leo? And sometimes in the last days I have also heard another sound, just like the little ones
I have thought that the mature owl is hissing very rarely. I have read that hissing is typical voice of juveniles begging for food... but probably I did not understand that text properly...

Yes, and thats why I cant clearly say it was hissing, but sometimes I had the opinion, owls are with the parents 5 month, the new saison starts in october. We'll see if one comes along.Lubaska wrote:I have thought that the mature owl is hissing very rarely

This morning at 6.00 the mouse was loudly to be heard. I thought my computer would be defect. Did she gnawed at the microphone?

romy , you're welcome!
There are really fond memories, when I rearrange the Highlights - pics of Pixtura archives.
But it isn't easy to decide , which picture find a place on the collage.
I will continue this work.

Leo´s first visit was at 0:57 o´clock - he came to the nestbowl, tail high, head low
I didn´t hear an answer from Lotte, but there is a nice camera zoom on Leo
His next visit was at 06:22 in the morning - this time cam operator was still asleep and there is no zoom
Typical vocalisation for display - the most intense time begins at 06:33 o´clock, when Lotte is somewhere closer and calling - from this point on Leo is holding his tailfeathers as high as he can and scratching the nestbowl
I didn´t cut the videos shorter, as these visits are probably rare highlights for us owl-lovers during the next months ....
Archives got him only in the morning
Maybe there will be more pictures in the highlights archives later ...

Hi, Romy! Congrats to your "catch" this morning! I check archive every day and of course I open a cam daily but have not seen anything (only dormice ) but not you...! You had a success today.romy wrote: my snapshot from the morning
Hi Bea! Thanks for great videos! You were right that it was not necessary to cut them - since I enjoyed seeing Leo for the first time "live" (I mean in the same day as he has appeared). I dont count old posts from former seasons or from beginning of this one because I was not here on looduskalender in that time. So it was really for the first time for me that our Male came to the nest ledge!Bea wrote:Leo´s first visit was at 0:57 o´clock - he came to the nestbowl, tail high, head low

That vocalisation was very interesting! Just before 6:33 I ve started to hear another owl voice (similar to our owlet hissing - it is a sign that I miss it badly! ) - was it a voice of Lotte?
