Lotte is coming in loudless, with food in her talons - a bird of prey - Buzzard?
Different to other occasions the bird still had its head on, so maybe she hunted it herself?
Lotte removed the head on the ledge and the head rolled down on the balcony

I noticed a feather suddenly being on the wall and one can see a swooshing wing that whirled up some feathers, it could have been a silent delivery or an owlet making wing exercises close by
With sound only it is difficult to interpret and cam was not moved. I suppose even cam operators have to sleep at some time

Lotte is coming home with a mouse, older owlet can get it.
She walks out to the ledge to continue feeding on the leftovers of the Buzzard, younger owlet joins her

A while after Lotte had finished eating/feeding on the ledge, she walked to the nest bowl and continued with a wing at the nest bowl.
Younger owlet follows her

Not much left from the wing, but Lotte stores it in the upper larder
06:34
Lotte continued eating from the wing/leftovers of the Buzzard on the ledge

Food coma in the morning
A few minutes before Lotte brought the bird, I heard strange sounds. Were these the sounds of hunting?

Lotte was not far out, she came back and fetched leftovers of the Buzzard from the upper larder
Older owlet continues self-feeding for quite a while

I don´t think that Eagle Owls make sounds when they are hunting, they would betray themselves with calling.Mamicja wrote: ↑May 19th, 2020, 5:05 pm

And it neither sounds like call of a Buzzard ...
For me it sounds more like a call of a Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea, Graureiher), they also call in the night and even fly in night time:

Perhaps a Grey Heron felt disturbed by Lotte somewhere close?
Or was it one of Lotte´s usual hoarse calls? Sounding a bit different with a distance?

20. May
02:04
Leo with a quick mouse delivery, older owlet was out on the ledge and got it
My recordings froze (once more) at 02:57 and I started again only around 7 o´clock, so no more night reports today ....

21. May
Not much to report about last night ...
01:04
A single shot - owlet/s stayed quite cool
A bit later cam operator panned over the valley, but I think there was 'nothing' to remark ...

No visible sign of Lotte or Leo during the whole night
Owlets spent the night more or less the whole time on this spot, older owlet made one or another short walk out of cam view
05:45
Lotte returns to the owlets, but I think she had no food with her and stayed for about 5 minutes
