Sue Hines: 16mm of rain in Orange since 9am...and it's cold! I actually lit my fire when I got home from work - the damp air is very chilly! Feeling flatter than a tapeworm in a mangle tonight Goodnight all.
sandeep malhotra: Well today is our Indians biggest festival day Diwali which is the festival of lights
sandeep malhotra: Next two days are holidays
moka:my rewind
is going back to 6 pm, Di is home since then. Good for her, staying dry. Hope the juvies and X also have found a good dry place to hide under.

Many thanks, Solo for your reporting and pics!
TY for sharing these sweet shots from the juvie(most likely Budhin).
I have sometimes an look to the Melbourne nest. Ferenz posted about. One from the chicks is not good, not healthy.
At the beginning all three were nearly similar in their development, later one of them is stopping in development. Some people mean it has a problem with his/her eyes, can not see when food comes from parents. The chick has still white downs and is preening and moving only less. Hartbreaking, most likely he/she must starve...so sad.

The poor little Melbourne chick passed away this morning (Melbourne time)
Most likely (not confirmed), it was haunted by a parasite that had occupied its throat and crop, causing bacteria get in there to infect and penetrate deeper into the tissues. This probably meant that it with full pain could neither swallow food nor open his eyes. So it starved to death.
Now it has not to suffer any longer. RIP little peregrine falcon chick.

The most developed chick fledged a bit later this morning accompanied by both parents.

All four safe, high on the tower Published 8 November, 2018 | By Cilla Kinross
http://www.gumtreecs.com.au/wordpress/a ... the-tower/
For the first time that I can remember, I have the whole family on the roof. This was just half an hour ago. Not much of a photo of the four of them, but does provide some evidence that we can say that the fledge was successful. It takes quite a strong juvenile to fly all the way up to the top of the tower.
And shots from earlier. The first is (I think) Budhin after a rather crash land on the slope of the roof. The second photo shows Gamma (I think) preparing for take off.
Sue Hines says: 8 November, 2018 at 5:20 pm - What wonderful news! The whole family on the roof at once? That’s brilliant 1) They all found each other already, and 2) both juveniles have the oomph to get all the eway up to the roof *happy dance*. They’ve been providing cam watchers with plenty of noise as they call encouragement to each other, ha ha, and aerobatic displays during their flight school sessions today. I bet they’ll sleep well tonight!

Thanks, dear Solo,
but this is just one of the reasons why I withdraw from participating in the forum. One more or less does not matter. Among other things, for me in general there is also no need to see pictures of suffering, dying chicks or slaughtered animals.* The written information about it is completely sufficient in my opinion. As I said, this is just my opinion.
Thanks also for the info about Markus, I look daily in the birdmap and hope that the other ospreys will do fine, too.
EDIT:
add: * as far as it can be avoided.

Thank you, balistar for your comment about the sick chick at the Melbourne nest. Now it must no more suffer.
And thanks for posting about the fledgeling there.
Also thanks to Solo and Ferenz for pics and reporting. I dont wanted post a pic yesterday about the poor little guy.
Solo, I saw early in the morning(australian time) a parent with prey flew to the roof from the tower, so I thought someone from the fledgelings is there.
