Re: Welcome ~ Where do you live?
I have learnt that Bea and Felis Silvestris are OK. Felis is close to the affected area but she and family are safe.
Other members in Germany, please check in. I know many of you are far from Munich but friends and family may not be.

Thank you for caring for us Germans.
My family, friends and I are not affected.
Good to know, that Bea and Felis are ok.
I hope, that this situation will be over soon without more victims.

I can only agree .... thank you for caring about us.
I watched the press conference tonight. A 18 year old killed nine people and himself.21 people came to the hospital.
16 are still in treatment including 3 seriously injured
For the victims

It is this Sympathy and concern that gives us all over again and again confidence and hope - despite all these atrocities. Thank you so much.

Thanks to everyone enquiring and Jo for putting this up. As I am living not too far from the place I got the whole scene with police cars, ambulances and fire engines rushing past for more than 3 hours without break, helicopters circling, people running away, very closely.
Munich woke up and I think we are standing tall, like all the people before us suffering from such a terrible tragedy. We will continue our lives and our thoughts, prayers and feelings are with those people who have been directly affected, witnessed the shooting and lost or suffered during this evening!

I live in Northern Bavaria.
My thoughts are with the people who died or were injured in the last days and weeks. This is all so senseless.

I`m so sorry for the terrible tragedy that happened in Munich yesterday. It´s good to see that you are ok.
My thought are with the people that died, their families and the injured. Like IceAge wrote, it´s complete senseless.

Hi there! We are from Helsinki.
We are searching for an estonian language user, here at this forum, who would gladly help with a translation of an writen in english text.
The text will not be too long but is going to have an official concern in it, like in a formal letter.
If there is someone who can spare a little of his time in a good case, please write on pm.

Hello everyone,
I have been looking for an introduction board and this seems to be the closest to the idea
I live in Berlin, am female and 36 years old. In a parenting related forum I found the link to the White-tailed Eagles and have been hooked since. Me and my family (especially my 10-year old son) love watching the eagles and have the cam on display roughly half of the day, often more it is absolutely fascinating to learn about those animals this way and I feel very privileged to be able to use this opportunity.
And to be honest, I am glad I am not the only one who is fascinated by a little eagle chick growing visibly each day
I wish all of you a nice day!

Oh, I never used this thread, so it is a bit late to say "hello" but I nevertheless can intruduce myself .
I live in Switzerland in the very north, Tõnn travels the place nearly ever year, so I am confident that one day, I will see him .
I am younger than I feel, haha, I'm married to the best husband and I've got 3 lovely and lively boys, the ones who know me since the beginning also know, when the first one was born. Also we have got 4 russian cats and 1 spanish dog.
When I found this site, I fell in love with the Kalakotkas, I watch them every free minute I have got. But of course I also love the watch all the other cameras. I am looking forward for the colder time of the year, to watch the deer again.
Thank you so much for your time, all who give us very important informations about those wonderful animals and study them and want to help to protect them. And also a big thank you for everyone who keeps this forum lively.
I am excited about the tries to make the osprey native again in Switzerland and hope, it will succeed. The first youngster returned this year.
Big hugs to you

Hello to all,
I'm from Germany and have been reading here since 2013.
especially the webcam about the seals, the black storks and tawny owl is my attention. Every morning at breakfast I make my round through the cams.
Unfortunately, my english is rudimentary and i need the translator.
Here in Germany I also observe the Eifel Uhus and in Nuremberg the falcon cam on the castle.
I am pleased to be here

Hello everyone!
I am not new here, but I finally found this section of the forum - which was not easy, rather a bit like searching through a white-tailed eagle's nest ...
I live in the South of Germany, as I will probably move to another place later this year, my current hometown is not very important.
As you might have guessed: I am very interested in wildlife, all creatures great and small. One of my personal greatest concerns is persisting ignorance and disrespect regarding anything which is not human-/mankind-like.
And this is the reason why I find webcams like these so important. Information and education are the tools in our hands. This is truly a "labor of Sisyphus", but any kind of commitment is worth it.
As I wrote to one of our members, if you read the You Tube chats, it's curiosity which leads people to watching, simply: watching. And, maybe, expecting to see cuddly sweet chicks. Gradually, you have to learn that life is not predictable and the course of events may take a very different turn. Then you ask questions: Why? How? And therefore, it is so vital that you come up with facts which, in the long run, may correct one's views of what "nature" is - and what nasty role we humans sometimes play ...
Birds? Birds! It started with bird-feeding, of course. Watching more than 16 species at the feeding place (in town!!!) was quite something. And then: pigeons came to that place. For the first time, I was confronted with absolute hatred of people regarding one species alone. They did not KNOW anything about them, but kept on telling BS (pigeons destroy buildings - rather than: air pollution did the main job, they make you sick - rather than: it's your stupid human life style which makes you gasp for air) . Now, don't get me wrong, I do not want to discuss pigeon matters in this forum, of course, but it shows how infinitely great the lack of information in general on wildlife of any kind really is. And disrepect and disdain lead to unbelievably cruel actions against these creatures.
So, this is where the circle closes. We won't be able to completely eradicate prejudice, but we can work on it. See above: information and education. And tell people how interesting and simply nice it is to spend time with : just watching. and wondering. and getting to know.
Kind regards!
Susanne

Hello all!
I am a proud Texan boy here, born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, the southernmost part of the USA.
The RGV is a wonderful place to watch birds since it belongs to the yearly migration region of birds that go from Mexico to Canada and vice versa.
Also, the Boca Chica beach in the very southmost corner of the state (border with Mexico) is a nesting site of marine turtles.
I grew up going every summer to the beach to see the turtles hatch and as time went by organizations got together and now the turtles are protected so they always reach the waters safely.
