Gavril - Thank you for sharing your stories about your cats. And one of the was shot by strangers, terrible. Beautiful pictures!
Luz4711 - Your cats are really beautiful too, and many beautiful pictures of them. It's terrible to read about how people treats many cats, I wonder how they are able to do it But fortunately there are many very kind people too, like yourself. And your cats was very lucky to meet you, their guardian angel. Nice to see how Mojo enjoyes the bird cam..

Lussi, thank you for your kind words. It is a cruel world somehow. To think of bad things only would drive one insane. If everyone in this world would help what he/she can afford to do without suffering their selves it would be even more wonderful.Lussi05 wrote: It's terrible to read about how people treats many cats, I wonder how they are able to do it But fortunately there are many very kind people too, like yourself.
Pepe did choose us not us him.
After dinner we were sitting outside and he came and did sit on my lap. He was warm and it was a little cold outside. It felt good. I put him away but he came back right away. We had only one cat at the time and I asked my daughter if we should take him with us. She said yes....
Gavril: ever thought about having new cats?

Luz4711! What You write to me familiar and close. I fed the homeless cats for 17 years and saw everything. Some of them fate was happily. They were fortunate enough to find good kind hosts. But, unfortunately, the fate of some of the other was tragic. All the cats I remember. They are very different. About their life, you can write a novel! But, Luz4711, I'm not ready to take a different animal. If I see deeply unfortunate animal, dog, cat, or something... maybe I can't get past. Lussi05! You are right - there are people ascetics who help animals and birds. They live close by and it is good!

Yesterday was very sad, and our neighbor´s cat, Calvin´s <3 last day. His last days on this earth was not very good. We had a special relationship, because I took care of him when my neighbor was away. My heart aches for him, but now he suffers no more.
In memory, Calvin and Lussi´s (Calvin is the cat to the left) last fight <3
It went well. I think this happened almost daily, so I guess Lussi will have a better life now.

No, the way how he was chasing Lussi (the cat) upon trees ... What Lussi05 wrote does not really sound nice:

I have been thinking if I should tell the whole story, because I think some of you can disagree in the outcome. But please understand. All of us here care a lot of cats and other animals, and what happened with Calvin was the best option for him, for many reasons.
Calvin was not an old cat, only 7.5 years. He was found by our neighbours son, all alone and abandoned in the city. So the son took him home to his parents, our neighbours, close relatives to my husband. The had never wanted a cat, but they kept him.
In May the man in the house, my father-in-laws cousin died, and in september his widow sold the house. It's understandable, it's too big for her, and too deserted.
Non of her children wanted Calvin, and we wanted him, but as you know, we have a cat, Lussi, and they are, unfortunately, bitter enemies. We could not take the risk. It was, for many good reasons for my neighbour, not an option to take him with her or give him a new home, so they had to put him to sleep.
But last sunday my neighbour moved to her new place, and they left Calvin behind!!! And no matter what they say now, he became homeless. We were really shocked when we discovered what has happened, but (and I'm really ashemed to say this) we were not brave enough to tell them some true words..until friday and again yesterday.
My mother-in-law rang our neighbour and told her how terrible it was on friday, and my neighbour had a very bad conscience (she is a very nice lady, believe me) but she actually believed that he did not suffer. They gave him food once a day, and her son-in-law had told her that cats could live that way, they survived. And the sad thing is, many people believe the same.
So to yesterday morning! I had slept very badly, I was only thinking of the poor cat. When I got up I saw a black cat a bit down the hill, and I thought it could be Lussi so I called..Pusen..Pusen. The cat stopped immediately, turned his head around and looked at me, started to cry and run in full speed towards me. He cried and cried, he wanted to be cuddled, and he was very hungry. I burst into tears and said to my husband: we are no better than our neighbour, we let him go around her and don't dare to do something because we are afraid of how they will react..I was so ashemed! So we decided...to H... with their feelings we have to take action NOW. I called my mother-in-law, and she was totally agree.
We took some phonecalls, told them what we thought and that they had to act immediately. It was really heartbreaking, but it had to be done. He could not go outside day and night, in all all kinds of weather, with the snow that can come any day now. And the rest you know, it was not a happy ending, unfortunately.
It goes with the story that they (at least some of them) are not very fond of us right now, although my neighbour thanked us yesterday, and they was going to do it, but not yesterday. But when an animal suffer, why postpone the inevitable??? I'm sorry, but I don't understand it.They thought he could manage to live that way. But they didn't see him waiting lonely by the empty, dark house, other cats ate his food, it snowed last week...but we did, and we could not live with it!! All I could think about was the poor cat.
This became a long story, please delet it if you think its inappropriate, I will understand. And I love cats and other animals, but they can't be kept alive in any circumstances, in my eyes, that's cruelty to animals.

Lussi what a sad story. I think you were right to tell them what you feel otherwise you would be wondering for the rest of your life why you didn't speak out.
Hugs to you and O.H. & Lussie cat too.

Thank you for your comfort, and your compassion for Calvin, everybody! <3
Although it´s not my cat, this has been very difficult situation, with many feelings involved.
(Greetings from Lussi, he was NOT nice to her, so she does not share my feelings. That´s cat life )

Yes, your cat Lussi must be happy not to be stalked and chased up trees!
