Pikk Hermann - Tall Hermann, a tower of the Toompea Castle, the flag on the top of the tower at 95 metres above sea level is one of the symbols of the government in force and it is raised and the national anthem is played at the time of sunrise (but not earlier than 7 am) and lowered at the time of sunset (but not later than 10 pm). While it is lowered, the song "Mu isamaa on minu arm" (My Fatherland is My Love) is heard.

One day I spent at the zoo, looking for the leopards I know from the webcam. I even met somebody from the TZ forum there, although this we found out only later with the help of Juta, as we could communicate mainly "non-verbal" (thanks again for the photo! )

Of course the eagles also were visited, although the main area was closed due to breeding, I got to see a juvenile Steller's Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus)

thank you Felis for sharing these pictures with us!

too bad that the bears decided to stay away... but it's so interesting to see pictures of familiar places taken from different viewing angles, like of the siga ground and the Alutaguse bear camera place.

The bears will definitely get a second chance! Yes, it was interesting to see those places. Siga is definitely smaller than one imagines. The cam was not there, I suppose it is at one of the nests right now. Karu is like I had imagined it.

Update July 26 to August 2, 2013

Thanks again for the nice words about my photos. Some maybe have noticed that I've had another whirlwind visit to Estonia late in July. On short notice there was the decision to meet Jo when she is there for her annual visit. It was nice to meet Jo and have some time to chat and exchange and enjoying wonderful Estonia.

But before meeting Jo outside Tallinn on the countryside, I've had some hours in Tallinn to rediscover some known places and find some new.
