Post by Jo UK »

This topic is for drawings, animations, compilations etc, for those artistic members to hone their creative skills.
The usual forum restriction of image size (800 X 600) need not apply here, but if your image is much larger, please use only one large image per post. It will help with page loading for those with slower connections.
Have fun with this. We all hope to enjoy your efforts.

Click on the black arrow to change scenes

Added over 100+ images to this project. Some problems I have
1. The drama scenes start too soon. Atm I have no idea how to "expand it" so the drama doesnt occur too soon.
2. Few scenes start suddenly, because have no idea what to add at the moment, so I added some key elements, what I want to happen in it.

Super. You reminded me of that new stick interlude! Great fun.

Which particular "drama" do you mean? Ringing, Storm? Nest collapse?

Perhaps others will have some ideas to help it on its way.

I mean that when that eagle wanted to steal eggs (I'm not sure what really happened, but I watched that video and there it showed some strange eagle flew past and Anna/Uku was angry)

Cause I think it happends like too soon :D.

Maybe beginning is introdution like Some guy talks narrative way about Estonia and its Eagles and then we pan to the Anna and Uku nest. They show how they slowly build it and decorate.

Cause some of the actions happen too soon and I also have to figure out how to give activities to them in the nest if they are all the time in the same area :D.

Some scenes happen suddenly, because I put the rought idea down :D. I do want to put some scenes between there.

I am sure there are some members who will come up with ideas. We just need to let them know that their input will be valued.
Can you post a request for ideas, on the WtE topic and then give a link to this topic?

In the same area - yes, there is the long, boring time of egg incubation to deal with. Can you find a way to indicate the passage of time? Weather? visitors (other birds)? What else happened back then?

I wonder if Mutikluti will have some ideas. She knows as much as anyone about this nest. I will ask her.

Some ideas I have like some birds visiting their nest (Taking a small inspiration from bambi where bunch of animals went to see newborn bambi) Like small warblers and others are talking with them or other eagles visiting them.

I give for you my YouTube adress...there are all events what happened from the beginning in the eagle nest. Maybe you can use something from those videos.

Thank you :loveshower: :loveshower:

I gonna look there and add probably some new scenes too. like small birds who visit their nest and Eaglets talking, otherwise it would be a bit boring if they are 70 days in same place and nothing to do :D.

Hi again,

two pics from my archive:

Anna chirps a fairytale to bring the chicks to sleep:
Image

Anna covers the chicks, while it snows late in April:
Image

And some characteristics to distinguish Anna from Uku:

Anna has a lighter colour on head and neck
Her "hair" looks a bit tousled, while Uku's perfectly combed
She has darker eyes
And she wears rings

Thank you for the info. Omg yes, fairitale is a good idea to do :O.

I added some beginning to the comic. I find it easier atm to do the changes in a picture sequence, as then people don't have to click through the whole flash to see new scenes.

Flacko, am I allowed to suggest corrections? Of course, it is up to you to create your cartoon!

Starting to start - beginning a new episode
In their life - more than one life so in their lives
We gonna look - As not everyone understands American slang, it could be changed to We are going to look
An exiting story - exciting story (exit = to leave, depart)

I won't be offended if you tell me to go away!

Thank you very much for the corrections!
Ofcourse You are allowed to do corrections, I want it to be written in correct way.
I know sometimes my grammatical part might have some issues, with the sentences. Few words probably are wrongly written by pure laziness just to get the very very basic skeleton down :D.

You have all the rights to edit and make the sentences much better, so it would be understandable and nice to read. I learned British English at school

OK, then. Keep going. We can make changes as needed, but I won't edit your posts. That is for you to do as you want. I can make suggestions only.

I am so glad that other members are eager to contribute. I hope it helps with the story.

some idea for the SFX:

The eagles are accompanied by a lot of other birds:

Nightingale sings sweet lullabies in the evening
The rosefinch welcomes the eaglets with his "Nice to meet you"
In the beginning woodpeckers made a lot of noise and we feared they tried to attack the nest trunk
Not forgetting the frightening boom of the male bittern...

And we've heard mammals as well
A moose was heard as well as roebucks and of course racoon dogs and jackals in the last weeks

Hi FlackoWeasel!
I love your project!
And... you are very talented! Really nice drawings. :2thumbsup:
Please go on!

What I personally found touching, maybe some ideas:

1. Anna and Uku looking (very carefully and surprised) at the first new hatched fluffy little chick. One almost saw them thinking "what's this little ET that came out our egg?!" (Nobody told the parents what they could expect... :D )
2. How very very carefully and hesitating the first feedings went. Tiny tiny little morsels. As if the parents were afraid to hurt the chicks with this enormous beaks and talons of them. And there was Uku who couldn't property feed them in the beginning (or didn't dare?). And how Anna solved that problem by making Uku exercice his feeding skills ON HERE. :D
3. When the 3 chicks got a bit larger, how difficult it became for the parents to go sitting on them without stepping on them, how funny they had to move for this.
4. When it became a little to warm in the nest, a parent spread her wings, to create some shadow for the kids, like a parasol!
5. How, in my observation, it was often Uku who fed first of all the chick that didn't get much (or nothing) in the previous feeding. He is a thoughtful dad!

Hi FlackoWeasel!

I hope you saw my reply about colours for characters. I'm so sorry your project was scuffed away here were it's so hard to find. I could have understood if it was about WTE in general, but this is about our special eagle family and belonged on that thread imho. Well, well, I was a "moderator from hell" when I ran a forum, and members were not always happy, so enough complaints.

Eggs roll was a big part of early days in the nest. And the excitement from the parents when egg talk started! :bounce:

..And I'd be gutted if Anna teaching Uku how to feed chicks wasn't included. Super cute kissing and showing :)

Good luck with you project!

OMG I also kept hearing Rosefinch saying "Nice to meet you!" In English :O! I wan't to make some of the birds their neigbours. Such as nightingale, like you said, Rosefinch and Golden Oreole. When little kids are born, then time to time they come and visit. And when the birds have babies too, their kids gonna play with eaglets.

One day they hear a Nightingale sing and kids are amazed what is that sound. Mum tells its Nightingale, he will sind everytime a night comes. Kids love that song. One day hecomes and talks and sings near them and kids fall asleep

Thanks for the info. I will look how to add those in the story. I want to add some comical effects too :D.
Nightingale idea is amazing.

Ieze, yes I saw the post and gonna copy it here:

FlackoWeasel - Great ideas and pictures. <3! I'd love to read the Merikotkas Comic! :book:

Ideas for colours of characters: Anna has whiter and much longer "hair" than Uku, who's more beige and "shorthaired", he always looks very well groomed.

Anna and Uku also have very distinct black markings on their white tails, there are good illustrations of this in the introduction post.

I recognise Nord by his more black and white neck and "shoulders", compared to his siblings more brown shade. I think the pattern of the body feathers could be illustrated with triangular patterns (I had this idea to make an "Anna" coat).

Edit: Anne7, wow amazing ideas :O. I really like some. The afraid to step on can give some nerve parts, like when viewer sees it will be like "gasp oh noo don't step on it *anxiety* And she misses, viewer is: pheww.

Or Funny idea could be dad drops food on the kids face when he donesn't know how to feed very well and eaglet face is full of fish pieces :D. When we see the eaglet face, 1 of the pieces slides down :D.

2nd funny idea could be mum accidentally falls on the eaglets, but as she is very soft, eaglets dont get hurt, but get stuck on her butt a bit and 3 of them blop off back to the ground

(like she raises her butt, 3 chicks are stuck and then they go blop-blop-blopp! and come off :D

Edit2:

"Not forgetting the frightening boom of the male bittern..."

What boom :O?
