To all the admins, mods who care about the wellbeing of the forum and last not least to all the members who keep everybody updated not only about the happenings infront of the webcams, but also posting links to other interesting places, etc. etc. .

Great peoples, great forum: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
I agree with Brit's words. If I write myself, something else will be translated anyway.
Thank you all.... :2thumbsup:

How about introducing the work of those who are responsible for the forum's daily work like the administrators and moderators, the it-workers in the background and the founder of it all? What is your job, how much time do you spend for this voluntary work and are there any problems we probably can help solving?

Great idea, Leonia. When there is a quiet time, I can post something about how I came here, what I do, etc.
I don't know if Mr. LK , or webmaster will do the same.

If Mr. LK and webmaster will visit here, what questions would you like to ask them?

sova - we did not know who "guest" is but can see that it is someone who has posted from your IP. so we let it through the approval list. There must have been a technical hitch which I for one, cannot explain!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

It seems unbelievable that 10 years already passed. The forum and site became a part of my life. It was this time I joined Hancock and soon after that Looduskalender forum was opened. I registered here later, in February, 2009, and placed my first post in Wild Boar cam at the day, when the pigs had eaten the snowmama. More and more cams were opened every year, we watched wild birds and animals and learned a lot about their life.

P.S. I recongnized only four forum members on all the pictures from Urmas's article and don't remember the others. :puzzled: It's a pity they are not signed.

I became LK forum member in June 2018 having observed the cameras and forum discussions only for a month before that, so I guess you can call me a "green" forum member  I´ve known for years that here, in Estonia, we have this project called Looduskalender with amazing live streams, but i never really felt drawn to it. Up until the point, I somehow ended up seeing the moment, when on Merikotkas stream a parent fed his teeny-weeny chick with the most gentleness and careness - that`s something I´ve never witnessed before and that was the moment for me I knew I had to follow Sulev`s and Suvi`s family from now on :) Cant wait for the new season :bounce:

Happy 10th anniversary LK Forum :loveshower: Proud to be estonian 8-)

This would be great! What Kaido and Eili (who is helping) is concerned I would ask the same questions I suggested above. And Mr. LK? It would be very interesting if he could introduce himself and the background of his foundation. We know him for a very long time now, but besides those few who met him, most of us do know nearly nothing about him. Actually we should know more about what made him found LK and show him our respect!

And on the other hand may be all those involved have something in mind for the users to know?

Dear LK members and followers! And all, who made it possible!

(There was a day of elections yesterday in Latvia, therefore, only now it is calm time enough for me to pay attention to DD and also LK news with pleasure.)

Sincere greetings whith starting a new year of talks! :gathering: :D

My first entries in September and November 2015 indicate that I have been a follower of the LK already before and actually since the moment of signing up at the DD Forum in April of the same year (of course, due to our beloved Durberta) and from time to time the oldest members of the DD forum brought news and videos from you. Thank you very much for possibility to share!

My favorite places are forums of Small Bird Feeder Camera, the "kulgur" Camera, Black Stork Camera and their Migration Ways, and I'm fond of Kasmu Maritime Museum Webcam`s pictures. I have read also many other discussions and it is nice to see you here.

I've learned a lot of new and interesting things in the LK forum. I am delighted that there are so many online cameras of nature in Estonia, presence of nature in life and good governance of natural resourses.

Good luck to us - on both sides of the camera and at the home - in forum! :loveshower:

I got a clue and link to Looduskalender from a friend who told me of little Black Storks in Estonia.
I came to see, and here I am. I watched their webcam all summer, and now I'm following their moving to south ...
So the wonderful Karls family (+ Eedi) is my favorite birds here.

But I have also followed Tönns travel a little bit, and Bitt05, who spent her summer here in Finland,

So... A little bit Late Birthday Wishes, and thanks for this great site !

By the way, when I was registered at this forum, wanted to learn when it has appeared. I began to look for the very first messages. I have found first registered on September 19, 2008. Coincidence, there was a September. I began to wait for celebration to learn date of emergence of a forum. And here I read what you also don't know.
But all the same I congratulate now! :loveshower:

As I have come here.
Approximately in May of this year to me have given this reference.
https://dabasdati.lv/site/kameras/kamera05-a.html
I have gone to the address in the bottom of the screen and have found a subject of this nest. In the same place I have found the reference to this forum and too I began to read a subject of this nest.
And only recently I have found broadcasting on YouTube with a chat. :slap:
I have all on the contrary. Probably, all upside-down pass this way.
There I have complained that it would like to be registered at one of forums but I don't know languages.
I was answered that such at forums there it is a lot of people of not knowing English or Latvian and all communicate with the help of GT.
I perfectly understand all by means of the same GT, and I have to be understood, I have thought. Then I was registered at this forum a month ago. What I am very glad to. There is a great team.
I have found here many interesting subjects and have subscribed for them.
Here very conveniently technically also welcome in collective.
I wish to a forum of 100 more years!

Hello,
I read and watch since 2013 here in the forum and the webcams. in November 2013 I searched the web for animal webcams and found so looduskalender.
Since that time I am here regularly to "Klaara and Klaus" the gray seals and everyone else to watch.
Now after five years I finally signed up.
It's great what has happened over the years and how much work has been and will be done.
Many thanks to all who made this possible and make.

How did I come here?
It seems so long ago that I first watched a webcam.
In 2004 my husband was diagnosed with cancer - it was in his bones. For the first year or so he was OK with treatments and pain meds. About 2006 he needed more help and I could not go away from home much more than 2 - 3 times a week, to work. My life became restricted to home and work and the interrnet became my social life.
Looduskalender and Kotkaklubi provided me with mental stimulation, interest and contact with people of similar interests. I have much to thank them for.

I first watched the Hornby Eagles - bald eagles in Canada. On the Hancock forum there was an enthusiastic group of people who were, together, sad or joyful according to nest activites. When that nest camera ended, suddenly there was a new webcam - Black Storks in Estonia, and the friendships that started in Canada were just as strong in Estonia!
In a short time, Estonia became familiar to so many of us, who called ourselves Storkaholics.

In 2008 I wanted to meet these fellow Storkaholics. Having satisfied myself that husband would be safe for a few days, I went to Estonia and there met the core group of Storkaholics. Juta and Martin met me at Tallinn airport. Later we met a few more of the group. A car journey south took us to a parking area on a main road. There, a tall bearded man was waiting for us. It was Urmas, of course!

I expect he was as curious about us as we were about him. We went into a forest and from a long distance could see where the black stork nest was. Well, not really see it - there came such am amazing rain storm that it was difficult to see anything more than a few metres away. Then we found a picnic area where we could drip-dry. We ate and talked - talked about cameras, migration, forums, We wanted our own forum rather than have to be guests at a far-away website.
Mr. LK later wanted the same, and in 2008 we had own own Looduskalender forum. I was asked to head it and with great pleasure and excitement, we were off on this super journey. My husband died in 2009 and more family bereavements followed. Sister, brother and three Burmese cats! With so much grief I wanted some time away. Fortunately the Mod/Admin team is so capable and the forum has thrived.

What does an Admin do?
Generally, we help to keep good order on the forum. We find and give information about webcams, birds we shall expect to see, and as much background information as we can get.' We try to avoid disputes, or resolve them. In the ealry years there was some conflict but in recent times we seem to have mainly decent, sociable members.
A lot of effort goes into keeping spammers away. There are more spam applicants for membership than genuine members.Today was my turn to check new members. Four had to be refused. One, bless you Caro, is a real person who wants to be a member. Wecome Caro! (I wrote this yesterday)
Sometimes, spammers are so careless. If someone arrives having a username of HPsupport, or pplimos, or vacationideas, that is a clue of some kind! Not really interested in Estonian nature and wildlife. So it is time consuming but well worth the effort to keep us clean and untroubled by the spam nuisance.

Nearly 3 years ago (in March 2016) I happened to come across, thanks to a member of a Garden forum who placed a link, to the life cams of Ana & Uku and Irma & Ivo and Mai & Mati. :loveshower:

I was thrilled right away.

Meanwhile I am following more nests and other cameras and I have been reading a lot about ospreys, BS and Eagles. And Tönn. And I have been following Knips' fate. Seeing him released was so touching.

I found this Forum and registered almost immediately because I knew this is unique and really special.

The Forum and the eagle people and the life cameras and the users who invest a whole lot of their time to document the life of these precious birds and animals are awesome.
